Both Melancholy of Haruhi-chan and Ayumayu Theater deserve two tags above anything else: Random and Parody. They are both shows about practically nothing, with chibified characters and parodies from certain series. They are both quick, lighthearted and fun watches.

Both are short web series featuring chibi versions of the characters from their anime. Join the characters from each series as they go on their very random and often parody filled adventures. Similar animation, similar humour. Check one out if you liked the other. You should probably watch their relating series first though.

Petit Eva: Evangelion@School

Evangelion pilots Shinji, Asuka and Rei, plus Eva Unit 01 and the rest of the gang continue their adventures at a not-so-normal school in Tokyo-3. From passing notes to sleeping or cleaning the classroom, or from ghosts, Angels, meteorites, and hole digging, the gang’s lives are full of random, fun and entertaining events. Just don’t let Principal Ikari or Misato Sensei catch you goofing off or napping in class, or you’ll be in trouble!

I can't think of a better recommendation for Haruhi-chan than Petit Eva. They're both short parody web series featuring chibi versions of the characters from their anime (cgi too!). They're both school related and quite random. If you're a fan of one, you'll no doubt enjoy the other.

Chibi characters? Check. Short episodes? Check. Random situations? Check. Barely funny humor? Pretty much a check for both as well. These shows are pretty similar, but I'd recommend sticking to the main series.

Silly, sensless and short, three great things about both of these shows.

Although they are just a fun bit of fluff, Haruhi-chan and Useless Animals are a great way to waste a few minutes a day and not have to keep up with a complex storyline. I think fans of one show will love the frivolity of the other :)

Lucky Star

Lucky Star

In present day Japan, the life of a school girl is never dull. The easily-bored Konata never finds time to study because of her otaku habits, which frustrates hard-working Kagami to no end. On the other hand, laid-back Tsukasa always manages to go with the flow, while Miyuki is concerned with keeping her status as resident know-it-all. Join these four girls as they muse and meander their way through everyday events such as eating chocolate cones, doing homework, gaming, and trips to the beach galore.

"Hey you got lucky star in my Haruhi."

Haruhi-chan is like A mix between the Haruhi we all know and love, and the complete silly, randomness of Lucky Star. If you enjoyed either you should deffinetly pick up the other. Both poke fun at the orginal and are just plain fun to watch.

Although, I do reccomend watching the Orginal Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi before watching either Lucky star or Haruhi-chan.

Gag Manga Biyori and The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya bascially have the same sense of humour. The reactions are over the top, the situations and events are preposterous at best, and certain characters' energetic attempts to point out failures to abide by logic or the laws of physics are ultimately in vain.

For those who like their humour coming in thick and fast, whilst not stopping to make so much as a lick of sense, both of these shows will no doubt delight. They wear the tag of "random" as if it were a medal.

Psychic Squad

Psychic Squad

At its helm are three ten-year-old ESPers: Kaoru, Aoi and Shiho. Together, they will put a stop to crime and attempt to gain the trust of the public; but can their guardian, Kouichi Minamoto, manage to help the girls mature enough so their selfish actions will stop hurting the world around them?

crazyness, fantasy and an unfortunate, yet otherwise able hero are what these animes are about.

I would say that ZKC is not as crazy as the absurdity haruhi-chan, but it is more crazy than haruhi. But really, both shows are about crazyness caused by one (or three) girls, and the guy who has to put up with them. Poor Minamoto and kyon

Weiss Survive

Weiss Survive

Do you like random humour? I'm guessing so, as you probably wouldn't be checking this rec out otherwise. In any case, these anime have a fairly similar brand of hilarious stupidity. Haruhi-chan Suzumiya no Yuuutsu is slightly more character-based while Weiss Survive lays the ecchi on a little thicker, but both hit hard with unexpected occurrences and wide-spread bizarrity. For that reason, it's very much a case of "liked one, watch the other".
