In a world where magic is a reality, the young Louise is at the bottom of her class. Dubbed "Zero" by her classmates at Tristein Academy (due to her zero success rate for magic), Louise (along with all first year students) was charged with summoning a familiar; and instead of a cute magical creature, the familiar arrived in the form of... Saito Hiraga, a normal Japanese boy who was abruptly teleported from his own world?! Can both Louise and Saito come to terms with their new and complicated "relationship" and (more importantly) help Saito find a way home?
I coud say that you get somewhat same fell from bouth animes.Bouth imply familiars. Bouth have a dominant Character wich is the master/pupeteer of the second one;The funny part is that in Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai the familiar has feelings for it's master, in Zero no Tsukaima it is the master that shows it's feelings moastly through out the anime, making a tsundere impresion
both are very familar, there is also magic included. the characters are somewhat similar as well. you would like both anime!!!!!!!

Uzume Uno was on her way to class one day when a stranger dropped a mysterious device into her bag - and it’s no ordinary device! The middle school student soon discovers that she can use the cards within the device to summon five gorgeous dolls to fight for her in card battles with others! What adventures await this would-be card master and her new, loyal dolls?
Dolls fight against one another with the assistance of their masters. The dolls in both series are self aware and quite imposing. The MCs in these series are complete opposites but if you enjoy seeing magical doll fights, look no further.
The foundation of alchemy is based on the law of equivalent exchange; you cannot produce something from nothing. As such, alchemy is bound by one taboo - human transmutation. Four years ago two young brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, broke this taboo when they tried to resurrect their dead mother. During the process Al's body disintegrated and Ed lost his leg. In a desperate attempt to prevent his brother from disappearing completely, Ed sacrificed one of his arms so he could affix Al's soul to a suit of armor. When his missing limbs are replaced by auto mail parts, Ed bears the name of the Fullmetal Alchemist - the youngest ever State Alchemist and dog of the military. Now, alongside his brother, Ed uses his status within the military to attempt to find any way that he can return their bodies back to their original state.
Both anime have a European fantasy setting with steampunk elements. The magic system in both anime are semi-science based. In FMA the science behind their magic is alchemy, while in Machine-Doll it's a combination of magic and technology.
Otaru Mamiya is just an ordinary teenage boy living on Terra 2: a planet inhabited by only men, on which women have been replaced by lifelike yet emotionless robots called 'marionettes.' But his life changes forever when he meets Lime, a spunky marionette with the mind of a child and--amazingly enough--the emotions of one as well! Soon, the demure Cherry and the outgoing Bloodberry join him as well, but he'll need all their help if he is to stop the evil Faust, ruler of Gartland, from taking over their beloved kingdom of Japoness!
Both series are about a young man and his harem of battle dolls who are madly in love with him and help him fight with several enemy.
While Machine-Doll is focused in magic/alchemy with a steampunk touch, Saber Marionette is more about mecha and technology with a futuristic approach.
