With a past shrouded in mystery and a blank memory, Shiki Tohno seems to be just another "average high school student". That is, until he nearly kills a female vampire with his secret deadly ability to "see the lines". His journey to unlock the secrets of the Tohno family and unbury his own lost memories has only just begun, and now he must also help the woman, Arcueid Brunestud, find a lethal phantom named Roa, and kill it using his ability.
For Kouta and Yuka, finding the bloody naked young girl on the beach would change their lives forever, for better or for worse. Unable to speak or function as a normal human being, she is named Nyu by the duo, and taken into their home in an effort to save her. But what neither teenager knows is that this innocent young girl is actually a killing machine -- an experiment gone terribly wrong -- and it is only a matter of time before the murderer in her awakens again...
Both Elfen Lied and Tsukihime successfully tell the supernatural tales of young individuals who, as they slowly uncover the mysteries of their pasts, discover a power that will serve to destroy the world they live in or the ones they come to love. If you were drawn into the darkness, mystery, bloody nature or supernatural ambience of one, than you'll find it difficult not to enjoy the other.
I think I'm making this recommendation because of the interesting and similar story lines that Elfen Lied and Tsukihime have. In Tsukihime, Shiki has lost part of his memory because of the shock of a violent event, while in Elfen Lied, Lucy (who has amnesia) tags along with Kouta, even though Kouta doesn't know much about Lucy.
If you like supernatural, mysterious, and dark anime with little bit of action and a fair amount of romance and drama, you'll definitely like both of these anime.
PS: Many don't agree, but to me, the music in both anime feels similar.
If the sheer amount of blood both animes contain isn't your thing, the emotional attachment to each of the characters that develops swiftly will.
When you look for some good thriller story, both Elfen Lied and Tsukihime should satisfy you. You can find some cliffhangers as well as abnormal motives in these stories.
Both series create relationships and struggles between they unsuspecting main character and the iconic "on the run" girl, both use mystery, suspence, and admittedly some violence to keep a riveting performance. If either is enjoyed then the other will surely be just as enjoyable or even better.
This Two Anime's May Seem Vary diffrent at first but when you watch both Elfin Lied And Lunar Legand Tsukihime you can see that The storys are both Greatly Writin Out and Both Have the right amount of Everything. With Both the Main Guys Memoreis Being Forgoten they both seem to figure it out slowly and with the write amount of Darkness these animes Seem To Be Realy closly Related
both anime have a great ost also they give this supense/mystery/drama feeling that i loved. also the characters in both anime have a dark past! if you like want i recommed that you try the other one both anime are just great!
The supernatural tales of two female individuals trying to go about their every day lives while relying on a seemingly weaker male character is what you get in both Lunar Legend Tsukihime and Elfin Lied. While watching the viewer will uncover the mysteries of the characters past seeing how it will effect their relationships in the future.
The Holy Grail War is a battle between seven magicians who each summon a mythical hero to fight for their cause. Shirou, a twice orphaned high school boy, had so little magical talent that his foster father did not bother teaching him about the war and its meaning. Thanks to that lack of foresight, Shirou finds himself in a bit of a pinch when he accidentally summons a hero of the strongest class, and is sucked into the fray. The Grail grants the winner any wish they have. But driven by an unyielding sense of justice and self-sacrifice, for what will Shirou fight?
Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night are created by the same company. While they might have a different story, the atmosphere, buildup and characters are very reminiscent of each other. Adding some action and a solid story, these 2 anime differentiate themselves from other game-to-anime conversions. (Don't worry, the hentai from teh games has disappeared in teh anime if that's what might scare you off.)
Since I really like anime done by Studio TYPE-MOON, I had to make this recommendation.
Both Fate/stay Night and Tsukihime are originally visual novels, and they have some similar character elements. The men have talents that they can't fully use, and the women are really strong. Both anime have nice stories that follow the relationship between the characters as they face hardships, and have drama, action, supernatural and fantasy elements, and romance.
Both series are about a guy getting thrown into a fight he didn't think he was ready for and finding out it was something he was born to do.
In both anime main character has to deal with unexpeted, supernatural facts thathe is forced to face. What's more, there is also tragic love story going between those who the most shouldn't fall for each other...
both of these series are centered on the battle in an all out war hidden from the naked eye, the characters struggle with modern ideas, relationships and battles to create a heartpounding adventure that will render the viewer speechless in the end. Both of these will are wonderful and if one is well recieved the other will be as well
Is it possible to lead a psuedo normal life when you have special powers? Two normal teenagers each with their own special gifts find out that it is possible until they meet a girl which flips their life around for a while.
These series both star an "average" guy with a hidden power and an ultra powerful non-human female. They are similar in that both stories unfold in a slow mysterious way and deal with supernatural elements. If you liked one of these, do give the other a try.
The reason I'd like to recomend these two is becouse of the feeling you get from the animes. In my opinion I don't think they share that much but the feeling you'll get from watching them. They both share that dark story about the two persones, who meets and fall in love whit each others. But who can't be together due the fact of there past and the now.
What I like about these is the fact that you can almost feel what theay feel. At some points it almost got me to turn of the serie to take a brake from it. If you got the same feeling from seeing one of them I bet you'll get the same feeling from the other. If you just like the darker side of love I still recomend this one for you. Hope you'll like it
Kazuna is a young man with a fairly normal life. He attends high school, lives with his surrogate family, and models for his somber love-interest Yaegashi's paintings. But recently, he has suffered several crippling attacks at the sight of blood -- attacks which leave him incapacitated and out of control. Kazuna must now reunite with his sister who he has not seen in years, and discover the truth behind his family name and vampiric genes, before his bloodthirsty desires destroy himself, or others close to him.
Both story lines are similar - a main character discovers he has a secret power/disease that separates him from the rest of normal humanity. He comes to live with his sister, and gradually learns more about his shrouded past, and what horrors lay in store for him. Both are executed in similar style -- little real action, and a LOT of staring into space...
Both shows show the darker side of being a vampire. Both also contain "normal" humans and how they react to the vampires. While Hitsuji no Uta focuses more on these than LLT does, I still think they're similar.
If you liked one, you should check out the other.
If you are looking for some slower paced drama with lots of character introspection then Hitsuji no Uta and Lunar Legend Tsukihime are both good options. Both shows feature a protagonist that has to come to terms with the fact that they are very differnet from normal people and each has a strong female character helping him.
Even though both series involve vampire, don't expect much action from either. However they are both pretty good dramas.
In world where flesh-eating monsters roam the streets, only one organization has the means to save civilization from annihilation: Red Shield, a specially-organized unit designed to fight these monsters, and the only weapon that can destroy them: Saya. Awakened from a 30-year sleep, Saya is thrust into a modern world which she has no memories of, and is troubled by a past filled only with bloodshed and sadness. With the undying love and support of her family and friends, she struggles to gain the strength to move forward and regain the pieces of her shattered memories.
Both Blood+ and Tsukihime are about vampires, are calm, have romance, and stress family over action. There're even similar plot twists in them.
Blood-sucking, special ways of killing, and a main character with missing memories. Blood+ and Lunar Legend both share these aspects. The mood of Blood+ is a bit lighter, however and LLT is much shorter but overall, they're very compareable. If you like one, you should like the other.
The aspect that I found most striking between Lunar Legend Tsukihime and Blood + was the fact that both of the main characters lost parts of their memories. The journey in each series of how they are able to overcome these difficulties and strive for what they are looking for is heartfelt for each character.
Both Blood+ and Tsukihime are about vampires, are calm, have romance, and stress family over action. There're even similar plot twists in them.
In present day England, a war is being fought. The average citizen does not notice, but vampires are running rampant among the populace, and it's up to the Hellsing organization to contain the bloodsucker threat, using even their own weapons against them. Alucard, a vampire himself, is the best agent the organization has to offer, answering only to Integra Hellsing herself. No one knows much about this mysterious figure fighting against the occult, but things starts to change after he “recruits” a new agent to the establishment...
In both series one of the main characters is beatiful female vampire, for whom there are many enemies waiting for one-by-one combat.
