Kaede is a devoted high school student who lives with her adopted brother Rin. She holds a quiet confidence that one day, when Rin finally starts showing interest in sex, he will make the obvious choice and turn to his loving sister. But what Kaede wasn’t counting on was the lords of heaven and hell coming to Earth, wanting Rin to mate with their nubile daughters! Rin, like any teenager would, takes full advantage of his newly acquired harem; but how long can he keep up his carefree, boxed-lunches-on-the-rooftop lifestyle, as the horde of girls on his tail grows?
Some people need to be smacked in the face with love before they realize how deeply they've fallen - literally! Both Lovely Complex and Shuffle are about a quest for love and the heartache between unlikely pairs. Shuffle! holds more of a harem mentality, but the wild antics and heartfelt sentiments are similar features for both series.
In a world where magic is a reality, the young Louise is at the bottom of her class. Dubbed "Zero" by her classmates at Tristein Academy (due to her zero success rate for magic), Louise (along with all first year students) was charged with summoning a familiar; and instead of a cute magical creature, the familiar arrived in the form of... Saito Hiraga, a normal Japanese boy who was abruptly teleported from his own world?! Can both Louise and Saito come to terms with their new and complicated "relationship" and (more importantly) help Saito find a way home?
Takasu Ayako can handle anything; duels with foreign powers and assassination attempts don’t faze her. But can she handle falling in love? Fellow students at the prestigious school for Beatrice users are shocked to hear that their "Angel of Death" Ayako, who has never even shown a smile before, has fallen in love at first sight with the diminutive freshman Yoshimura Mamoru. Mamoru must decide how to respond to the sudden confession of love, the resulting fascination of his fellow students, and the dangers of being near Ayako. Will his own powers ever measure up?
The story is pretty different from "Lovely Complex", but it's as funny and the two main characters are kind of like the ones in this show. The guy is really short and so, the girl is taller than him. The personalities of the characters in "Mamoru-kun ni Megami no Shukufuku wo" and "Lovely Complex" aren't the same, but the comedy and the romance are top-notch. Plus, some students can control a power called Beatrice and each episode made me laugh like never before + it has a plot (it's not completely mindless laughter).
If you don't mind the main characters not having as much trouble with their relationship as in Lovely Complex, lots of action and endless comedy, then you should watch "Mamoru-kun ni Megami no Shukufuku wo". Also, the ending is really sweet (and hilarious).
At the end of World War II, Japan was split and a great tower was erected that reached the skies. For three friends, Hiroki, Takuya, and Sayuri, memories of their summer spent together would stay with them forever. During that precious time, the three promised to one day travel to the tower in the skies on the wings of a white plane -- to finally see its brilliance and the surrounding land of Ezo -- but when Sayuri suddenly disappeared from their lives, the promise that once was made was broken. Though time continues to pass, will the three ever meet again some day?
Once upon a time, two brothers passed the happy days of their childhood by studying alchemy, which is governed by the equal transfer principle: an eye for an eye -- you can't get more than you give. But these brothers tried to defy that law, and a horrific accident resulted. Now, the older brother, Edward, is called the Full Metal Alchemist because of his metal limbs, and the younger, Alphonse, is a soul without a body, trapped within the confines of an automaton. Together they search for the power to restore themselves, to find the lives they lost so long ago...
In these series two characters seemed completely alike: Atsushi Otani and Edward Elric. If you liked at least one of them you'll definatelly like the other one. Both are short, hate to be called midgets, have a explosive atitude, but sometimes can be really serious and make really smart decisions. So although the themes of these two animes are different, Lovely Complex is about school romance and Fullmetal Alchemist is more fantasy-like, but the jokes surrounding those two main characters are really alike. So if you want to laught a lot - watch them both :)
