With the crew being picked off on by one, and tensions rising, can any of them last long enough to escape?

Both are series about ships in deep space and what happens when something goes horribly awry. They're both very nostalgic 80s in style (with ample amounts of cheese on the side), but still enjoyable to watch.
Both anime are about how bad things can get in space when you don't have any idea what is attacking you. Both shows are VERY 80's so there's a certain amount of cheese to them. Both have plenty of action and suspence that will keep you guessing what will happen next. I found Roots Search to be very terrible where Lily Cat was at least entertaining in it's terribleness. Check one out if you liked the other.
Both are your usual 80's OVA fare, with terrible animation, a plot that's either terrible or that makes no sense at all, a cheesy soundtrack, and a quite stunning lack of subtlety in every area.
These "horror" OVA's aren't so much scary as they are plain boring, or completely awful, but if you like your cheesy 80's gore horror then knock yourself out!
Both Roots Search and Lily C.A.T. are rather schlocky eighties gorefests about humanity coming into contact with creatures from outer space. Expect voice acting that's so-and-so, scripts that should have gone through editing a few more times, animation that leaves something to be desired, and a general lack of overall quality.
Fans of either, or if you are in the mood for more silly fare like this, would do well to check out the other title.
Both Lily cat and Roots search are about a spaceship that encounters some alien form and how the crew deals with the situation, both are from the 80's and have similar animation, characters in both films are poorly fleshed out and lacking to say the least but in both cases it was still an enyojable movie.
The animation in Lily cat is a bit better but the alien form from Roots search is a bit more interesting.
In outer space, no one can hear you scream. Something out there is picking people off one by one, some alien life form and it's up to most likely the last two people (Most likely a man and a woman with some level of beliguerent sexual tension) to stop it. They aren't much in the way of quality but if you're in the mood for some 80s cheese then you can do a lot worse.
Tada is a young man on the fast track to the Cosmo Academy -- a school which only accepts applicants every three years, and whose entrance rate is under 1%. Having passed all the prior exams, the final test is drawing near: survive for 53 days aboard a derelict spaceship with only 9 other would-be cadets to assist you. But much to the dismay of Tada and his peers, their ship has acquired an eleventh member! Can the crew band together to survive the test? Or will sabotage simply destroy them from within...

The premise of both films are very similar--stuck on a ship without any outside help, with an unknown stowaway on board. They must band together or die fighting an outside force. While both are sci-fi pieces from the 80s, Lily C.A.T. is more a mystery-suspense, while They Were 11 is more space opera. Both contain surprises and revelations that keep the viewer watching until the end.
Both of these animes thrust a crew of different people into a situation where suspicion is rife amongst the crew and someone is an imposter. Following several incidents the remainder of the crew has to try to figure out who is lying and solve their problems before they all die. Both animes have similar settings and tones so if you like one, try the other.
Both anime take place on a ship in deep space. Random people are meeting each other for the first time as they travel to a new planet. The crux of the plot of each show focuses on how there is a person masquerading as a member of the ship that shouldn't be there. The crew must figure out the identity of the imposter before they are taken out by them instead!
Following the disaster wrought upon the world by a mysterious being called ‘Akira’, Neo Tokyo is now in social and economic turmoil. In such a decaying city, feisty Kaneda and his shy friend Tetsuo survive by running around in a biker gang, chasing local rivals and generally evading the police. Everything changes, however, when Tetsuo crashes into a strange-looking boy during a bike chase and the military ends up taking him away. When he eventually returns to his friends, he’s no longer the same weak little boy they always knew – in fact, a military experiment has turned him into something beyond human imagination. While the military is intent on reclaiming its specimen at any cost, Tetsuo is sick of being bullied around and is about to show everyone, including his friend Kaneda, exactly who is boss.

There is something about older shows; they seem to have a lot more atmosphere to them and feel very creepy, especially with the fearless use of violence and gore.
Both Akira and Lily C.A.T. have some very dark undertones, giving you plenty to think about after finishing them. The animation may not stand up to some of the newer shows, but I think true anime connoisseurs will see past this and enjoy the two movies for what they are - something very special from the 80's.
It is the year 2124, and the crew of a medical transport ship are carrying dangerous cargo to its destination. The contents, though mostly unknown, are rumored to be viral in nature, and must not be let out under any circumstances. But when a leak occurs, the ship, as well as the crew, is at risk of being destroyed. With only two robotic space suits and limited ammo, can they escape in time, or are their fates sealed?

Both anime are about how bad things can get in space when you don't have any idea what is attacking you. Archetypes Forces is short and CG where Lily cat is VERY 80's. Both have plenty of action and suspence that will keep you guessing what will happen next. Check one out if you liked the other.
Beware the world of the supernatural, for their tricks and secrets will terrify and potentially even kill you. Two groups of girls experience the horror of the unknown in two very different ways: Masami has begun to have terrible nightmares after the arrival of a new transfer student, and a separate group decides to enter a haunted mansion alone at night. Their lives will be inexplicably changed forever once they discover the truth behind these strange events...

Both of these anime are Horror, made around the same time, similar art styles and are both anime which I watched as part of #DTAB and won my affection for more than 2 stars. They both have some gore aspects with the violence that features throughout them and whilst Lily Cat doesn't have the psychological tag it does feature some aspects of it in the plotline.

Lily C.A.T. specificially reminded me of the first "episode" in Memories, "The Magnetic Rose." Both are horror stories set in space, and the characters spend a lot of time/energy figuring out what exactly is happening to them. Besides the thematic similarities, both shows have a very similar spooky/creepy atmosphere.
Strange things have been happening at a local high school... mysterious disappearances, strange powers and brutal murders all emerge amongst kids who, up till now, have been perfectly normal. Even the Shinigami (Angel of Death) herself has been sighted. What's happening? The answers lie in the mysterious creature known as Boogiepop...
