Both these anime are suitable for the whole family but will of course touch children the most with characters they can relate to and fantasy worlds they won’t want to leave. If you liked Laptua then the Super Mario anime is worth checking out, also.

Radaghast

Another top quality anime exploring the theme of dreams, of keeping the faith in them over years and of giving up on them. Despite the fact that Ghibli Studio's movies are considered more kid-friendly and Beyond The Clouds belongs to the "uneasy" kind of anime that you have to think about a lot and generally be in the right state of mind to understand, the latter (recommended) actually has much more optimistic plot structure and morale than the former (Laputa).

NB: Beyond The Clouds is also considered overextended by some fans. Quite tolerably so, but indeed if you are a fan of very dynamic anime, please skip this recommendation.
