Saiunkoku Monogatari

Saiunkoku Monogatari

In an ancient and mythological land called Saiunkoku, the people have begun to recover from a period of war and famine; thus, when an official from the imperial court offers the impoverished and beautiful Shuurei more money than she could ever dream of in return for a favor, she jumps at the chance. What she doesn’t count on, however, is being asked to become a concubine to the recluse Emperor and help him transform into a better leader. What’s more, the Emperor shows little intelligence, seems to have no interest in ruling, and is rumored to prefer men. One thing’s for certain: Shuurei has her work cut out for her!

Well I suggest that if you liked La Corda, you definitely go watch Saiunkoku Monogatari. However, it depends on why you loved La Corda so much.

If you loved it for it's HOT MALE CHARACTERS =O! then Saiunkoku is definitely the next best thing =) From all the anime I've watched, these two have the HOTTEST male characters I've seen, with the BEST animation to boot.

The story itself is VERY different, however, both include female protaganists with a passion for something they love. Both the female leads definitely aim for something they want out of life and their male "friends" just happen to go along with them to help.

The main girls, Hino and Hidaka Sana in La Corda D’Oro and Myself; Yourself respectively have the same personality. They want to try harder in their lives and have a goal presented to them to strive for; they both also play the violin.

Both revolve around the main characters growing musical talent and their love for music. Although one focuses on rock and the other focuses on classical music it has a similar theme. For anyone interested in musical anime I reccommend this.

Shugo Chara!

Shugo Chara!

Hinamori Amu is a stylish punk rock girl who is liked and feared by her peers, but there's just one problem: she's actually a shy and quiet girl who can't seem to drop her self-fabricated facade! But when Amu finds three eggs in her bed, she had no idea her life would change forever. Out of the eggs pop Ran, Miki and Su, Amu's Guardian Charas; these being represent parts of Amu that she wishes she could be, even allowing Amu to transform into those parts at will! Now, with pressure from the other Guardians (including her crush, Hotori) to join their midst, dark sides of the psyche known as X Eggs to seal, and nefarious forces after a wish-granting egg known as the embryo, Amu's life has officially become more complicated!

La Cordo d'Oro and Shugo Chara have a light feel to them while also drawing in some heavy issues for the heroines.  There are little fairies that try and help the heroines realize their own potential and strive to accomplish that and become strong in themselves.

The main characters in La Corda D’Oro and Gauche the Cellist start off not playing music very well and they need a little help to get moving along.
