AD 2019: the giant mecha known as LINEBARREL falls to Earth, grabbing the attention of the anti-machina organization JUDA. Before JUDA can arrive on the scene, an unfortunate accident occurs: LINEBARREL crashes into Kouichi Hayase, a weak and frail pushover of a boy. Waking up underneath a beautiful naked woman, Kouichi discovers that he now possesses great power and can summon LINEBARREL for his own purposes. All Kouichi has wanted is to become a hero of justice and hold his own, instead his childhood friends Yajima and Risako fighting his battles for him – and now he finally has that chance. With LINEBARREL's power, Kouichi becomes cocky and aggressive, lashing out at those he cares about most; and as a 'hero of justice', Kouichi must find his new place in the world and protect himself from two organizations who want their hands on LINEBARREL.
Like most boys his age, the young Renton thinks of nothing but reffing – riding trapar waves on a board – and idolizes Holland, the leader of the renegade group of reffers named Gekko State. As an orphan of a famous hero, he lives a boring life with his grandfather until the beautiful Eureka crashes, literally, into his life. Now, with the help of his newfound friend and crush, Renton finds himself living amongst the crew of Gekko State. The errands are hard and the bullying is fierce, but with Eureka by his side, Renton just might find the courage to tough it out and even save the world!
take the mecha, save the girl and save the world... nice envolving plots for both of them showing amazing mecha battles and on top of that, a bit of romance that will take you right in front of the screen for hours!!
this anime is also a good mecha anime quite surreal and full of twists just like linebarrel so if you enjoyed linebarrel then this is a must see!
If you liked one of these series then you will probably most definitely like the other as well because both series have young characters who are still in their teen years with the male leads leading boring lifes beforehand and wanting to get out and do something. Then through unexpected circumstances they are give the ability and power to go out and make changes in the world. Both series also deal with mechs and actually both start out with the female lead the first pilots of the main mech. There is also some lite humor in each series with the main focus being on character development and the battles.
Following the acquaintanceship of a mysterious girl who lands her mecha on top of him/his house, the latter’s life changes. In the beginning, the boy is a somewhat ignorant brat, but with the hardships that came from being involved with a gang of mecha pilots fervently fixated on doing something in the world, he realizes the path to manhood and makes an effort to do what only he can accomplish…even if it takes him awhile!
In 2010, the Britannian Empire enslaved Japan using powerful mecha known as Knightmares; in the aftermath Japan was renamed Area 11, and its people began a hard and terrible existence. Lelouch, a Britannian student living in Area 11, has grown up hating the Empire and everything it stands for. One day, in the middle of a terrorist attack, Lelouch meets a mysterious girl who grants him the ability to control minds. Can he use his new power to fight for freedom, or will his hatred twist his good intentions into mindless acts of vengeance?
Ironically, they both are mecha based. Lelouch and Kouichi both now have supernatural powers because they "died" already...
As in Code Geass, majesty Lelouch is in a dellemia of continous patters every day doing nothing special. Then all of a sudden Things change.... He now has mind controlling powers...
As in Kurogane no Linebarrels, Kouichi is a student at school who gets picked on all the time. Kouichi has friends who always backs him out of situations, and Kouichi wants to do everything on his own with his own power because he always says I am Justice... Then he finds out that he is super powerful, but he's not alive and is like a zombie.......
Code Geass just came to mind the first ten minutes watching the first episode. I defentally Recomment Watching Either of these series if you liked either one.
to start off both are mecha, both have main characters share similar insanity but the one difference that i can see is that the main charcter LB looks like suzaku from CG but has the personality of lelouch from CG. so yeah, this my opinion but i found just wathing the first episode in a sense wierd in comparing the two, code geass is better
Gonzo does it again with this action-packed mecha comedy. She's an ordinary high school girl. He's a counterterror agent assigned to protect her from those who would steal the information locked in her mind. OK, so she's not so normal after all. Armored Slave battles and lovers' spats abound as Sousuke and his comrades try to track down the mysterious Gauln before it's too late.
Both of these shows have mecha of course, i think they give you the same kind of feeling watching them. Also, for the most part, the romance in both shows are one sided, in full metal panic, sousuke is oblivious that the girl likes him, and in kurogane no linebarrels, the guy likes the girl but the girl just finds him disgusting. I think everyone that likes one would easily like the other. =)
Both of these anime where the main character gets some kind of awesome mobile suit. Also the main characters also are a little retarded, not the same kind but retared none the less
Simon lives a boring life in the underground village of Jeeha, where his main job day in and day out is to dig tunnels. His close friend Kamina, however, longs to bust out of their oppressive existence and reach the surface world where open skies and adventure await! One day, during his usual digs, Simon discovers a robot with a big face buried amongst the rocks. No sooner has he shown Kamina his mysterious find when two beings from the surface crash land into Jeeha Village - one is a gun-toting woman calling herself Yoko and the other is a terrifying mecha piloted by a Beastman! Seeing their chance to escape village drudgery, Kamina rallies Simon and Yoko to defeat the invader using their new robot, Lagann. However, upon breaking out onto the surface world, Simon, Kamina, and Yoko encounter enemies more powerful than they could have envisioned. Their fight for adventure just turned into a war for the survival of the human race - will their lust for freedom hold out against such terrible odds?
The plot of these two series are extremely similar where the intention of the enemy is the major twist and pivot point of the story. If you liked the idea of the story in linebarrels, gurren-lagann will blow you away! They are both mecha too! ;)
I think these two mecha anime are similar in that the behavior of the characters is exaggerated and the scenarios are pretty cartoonish and unbelievable, yet they both manage to have touching human interaction between characters.
These two mecha anime both involve fighting against people from another world using mechas which, imo, look identical. The male leads are extremely different, but both suddenly pilot a unique robot, all to protect a girl who seems to have a connection to this other world. Luckily, the guy is backed-up by his many teammates, even if they don't like/trust him at first.
