Haiiii~ (~◠▽◠)~♥ WELCOME to ''Is This Healthy?'' a type of review where I describe how will you benefit from this anime based on how entertaining, stupid or even educating it is... I'm basing this review on episodes. Since my last ITH? review was downright traumatic and borderline flagged, I have no other choice but to make this a series. So these reviews are sort of like commentary. I would suggest reading this after watching the show, or WHILE watching since these are shorts.  PLEASE NOTE my humor can be offensive and dark and SHOULD NOT be taken seriously. Also, warning for explicit language. My #2 ''Is This Healthy'' review will feature a HORROR anime... ish. And guess what!? It's made by a live-action method called rotoscoping... OH JOLLY! Let's get right into this trainwreck. EPISODE 1  It starts off by two people skypeing. She's showing her clothes. Do people do this? Like, I usually GO OUT to show off clothes. Except if they are second hand... Oh I get it now we good, girl. ''I know you won't believe me but I saw someone behind you'' This is horror, of course she won't belive you. ''I heard a noise like someone fell'' ''HMM maybe my mom's home'' Did she just turn ''yo momma'' joke into a ''my momma'' joke? Um okay wtf was that? ... *confused* EPISODE 2 Yay elevator. Despite this anime making 0 sense so far, I like the style. I see they give props to The Grugde + that girl that wanished from the elevator and they found her dead in a water tank. Okay but like they show me literally 2 minutes of a footage of some girl being stuck and then they put a jumpscare that is useful in a way you can wipe your butt with it. I mean... yeah, it's very... that. EPISODE 3 Woman alone in the office. Lights flickering. What could go wrong? I kinda see where they got the animation style from. It all looks like something you would find on youtube after typing ''GHOST FOOTAGE 100% REAL WARNING SCARY'' This episode wasn't that bad. First one that was actually 10% creepy. EPISODE 4 A woman with a selfie stick. Okay off topic but I remember around 2010-2012 there was a picture of an old asian woman with a selfie stick and nobody knew what it was and EVERYONE made fun of it. Today 1/200 people own a selfie stick and it's a ''nifty gadget'' acceptable in public.  Okay she's using filters to the point her face isn't visible. Go self esteem! Is she dead? Ok lesson learned. Don't chill with ghosts if your apartment is haunted... also, don't use selfie sticks. ... she's real cute irl tho (>*~*)> EPISODE 5 I'm still watching this? No but seriously. Episode 5 is 2 minutes long. Reviewing an episode will take me more than watching it. It's a birthday party! ^^ ... no bit*h it's a 2 min long episode, idc Oh yay suddenly lights go off and something happens... It's been 5 weeks.  Meh. EPISODE 6 3 minutes. Progress? Security cams. I wonder what could go wrong? Ok so literally this woman is killing all these people. So it's supposed to be creepy because we don't know a thing about her? CONCLUSION And on that note, I got goddamn sick. It's a rare condition that originated from ancient Hungary (?) and I believe it's called idon'twannawatchthissh*tshowanymorevitis...  WAS THIS FUN? No. It's stupid, pointless, boring, not scary, my hair is falling out and I had to bathe in fungicide for certain reasons. But what was truly unhealthy is that the animation is unique and decent. This show had so much potential. Go to hell capitalism! WHAT DID YOU LEARN? What can you possibly learn in 2 minutes per week? If lights turn off and creepy music starts playing don't yell? Don't photoshop your images too much or u gon die? If there's a weird af dead girl on the monitor turn off your monitor and don't scream? Luckily I don't regret wasting 2 mins a week. IS THIS SHOW HEALTHY? No. You won't benefit or feel better or anything. Even the pillow boys were useful in giving me a laugh (and trauma) time to time. This show is a flu. You don't do sh*t and you feel like sh*t... for 2 mins that each episode has. I'll give it a 7/10 unhealthy factor. No, it's not a plague or a viral infection but it's bad. That would mean this show is 3/10 healthy for you. 3/10 would be equivalent to eating moss fresh from the ground. I know a person who did that. Don't ask where she's now... Thanks for going through this with me. This show is stupid lol. Rate this review if you found it helpful, funny or just like it!  Thank you and have a nice day :D

Story:  This series is made up of some episodic short stories about people getting attacked by a creepy ghost girl while on camera.  The premise is simple, but considering that the episodes are only 3 minutes long, I wasn't expecting anything complicated anyways.  The first few episodes are actually kind of creepy.  The problem is that this series is a bit formulaic and it becomes rather predictable and repetative very quickly.  Also, while it can be creepy at times, it does go overboard to the point where it's no longer scary. Animation:  The animation is probably the most interesting part of this series.  It was made by rotoscoping which gives it an unusual look.  While the rotoscope animation can be a little choppy at times, I think that choppyness kind of helps with the overall atmosphere they were going for. Sound:  Most of the background sound are ambient noises, which help with the overall atmosphere.  The ending song, on the other hand, is a bit jarring and doesn't really go with overall tone of the show. Characters:  The characters are okay, I guess.  They don't get alot of development, but that is a given due to the length of the episodes and episodic nature of the show.  It can be argued that each episode is a brief glimpse into their lives right before they get attacked by the ghost.  Overall:  This show is just meh.  It's not completely terrible, and if you are looking for something short and kind of creepy, then it will serve it's purpose.  However, I can't really recomend this show either.

Let me just start this review by saying Kowabon is by no means horrible. Despite me giving it such a low score, it's more out of disappointment and failure to deliver rather than watch value. Each 'episode' is about 2-5 minutes long, give or take, so if you're really into horror it's not a huge waste of time. At first I was really digging the rotoscoping technique used for the animation, and it's quality stayed consistent. Quickly I realised that it was just a cheap solution for lazy storywriting. Kowabon had a lot of potential, but it falls short with it's mediocre writing. The episodes are barely memorable, almost blending into each other with the amount of repetiveness they show. The actors and actresses used for the rotoscoping did their job great and delivered their lines nicely, but even with a nice script, it becomes a bit of a predictable borefest. I did like the lack of music to deliver the eerie atmosphere, but it's hard to tell if that was deliberate or because of a lack of budget. The ending credits song is almost stupidly jarring, but due to my lack of understanding of the Japanese language and culture, it could be deliberate as well to juxtapose the creepiness. Or maybe it was just Japan trying to lighten the mood after giving you creeps? Who knows? I sure as hell don't. If anything, at least the characters were okay. They aren't memorable, but I personally didn't find myself annoyed by their personalities or actions. Okay, maybe some actions, but that's because it's in the horror genre, and everyone knows that every character is allowed to have at least one stupid action in a horror movie/show. It's like, horror tradition man.Or maybe their personalities are really obnoxious but I've just developed an immunity to annoying characters thanks to anime and western crime shows? Once again, who knows? Overall, I'm so neutral to this. I really don't hate it. You can see they tried, but is that worth counting? The effort just fell because of laziness. Damn it Kowabon, give me something besides long haired girls with messed faces. I don't want to be counting down the until the jumpscares, or counting down the length of the episode... I want to be quivering in the atmosphere and checking my bed for some crazy messed up creatures. I know you have it in you! Just... Put some more effort (and maybe a tiny bit more budget) next time you attempt something like this. You fell short, but damn, there was something to Kowaban that just makes me wanna hug the series and whisper, "Shh, it's okay, I won't let the nasty critics hurt you." You tried and failed Kowaban, but please give it a better shot if you ever get a chance. Mummy still believes in you.
