There's an adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure; but for Kosuke Ueki, one man's trash is another man's... tree?! Furthermore, if he uses his abilities to harm others, he will lose one of his natural talents. Gash Bell and Law of Ueki remind me an awful lot of each other, though not for anything tangible. Yes, both are shounen... but beyond that, they each have a similar blend of random comedy, action, and battles. As each of these series is fairly unique in this regard, I think this is a good recommendation. If you liked one, try out the other!
If you enjoyed Zatch Bell you might also be interested in looking at The Law of Ueki! They both share the same basic story element of getting a power and participating in a tournament to become king with many side adventures along the way. So if you like the idea of a teen acquiring powers, getting into lots of battles and entering into a tourtment to become king then Law of Ueki would be a good anime to check out.
In both anime there are a lot of battles that will determine who will be the new king of an world seperated from the human world. there a a lot of candidates that come to fight and they have special powers. So if you like one of these anime you'd like the other one. Zatch bell and The Law Of Ueki have a similar plot, but each anime is unique.
Seven kids are enjoying their summer when suddenly, a digivice appeared before them, and the next thing they know, they are in the "Digiworld." There, they meet creatures known as digimon. There are evil digimon in the Digiworld, but they are not bad in nature; rather, most of them have been turned evil by nefarious forces. Each child had a digimon waiting for them in the Digiworld; and though not all Digimon are strong, the digivice that the seven kids carry has the ability to allow their Digimon partner to evolve into a stronger type. Together, they will going to embark on a journey to save the Digiworld from pure evil and darkness!
This might seem like a weird recommendation, but Digimon and Zatch Bell are similar. In both series the characters are given a creature to use to fight others. In Zatch Bell the characters receive a mamodo and in Digimon the characters are given a Digimon to use and fight.
Zatch Bell and Digimon work in a very similar fashion. Each person is partnered up with a being capable of fighting and sets out on their quests. Should the fighting partner be defeated, they do not die but simply return to where they came from. Both are full of action and comedy.
Some years into the future, a strange, unexplainable natural disaster has broken off a piece of the Japanese mainland. In order to keep the peace on the Lost Ground, the HOLY organization uses its own Alter capabilists to police the region. In the midst of the chaos is a young man named Kazuma, whose life will soon change forever as he discovers his hidden abilities, and how to wield them.
s-CRY-ed and Zatch Bell both have a lot of fighting and in both of the shows, most of it is fighting so if you like action and fighting, you should see these both. A little warnign though for s-CRY-ed is that it kind of is a lot more violent then zatch bell.
