Angel Sanctuary

Angel Sanctuary

Setsuno Muda is a high school boy with a cruel fate, trapped in a forbidden love for his blood sister and inhabited by the spirit of the Organic Angel Alexiel. As the final battle between Heaven and Hell approaches, and forces gather against him, he must soon make decisions that will inevitably alter his future for better or worse. But for poor young Setsuno, his anguish and torment might be more overwhelming than the blood on his hands, as conflicts are settled and lives are changed forever...

I recommend Angel Sanctuary and Koi Kaze because they both center around unlikely love interests. Both animes feature a serious look at incestual relationships between a brother and sister and how they deal with their feelings, society, and the repercussions of such a relationship. If you're looking for an atypical love overcoming all odds type of story, these two animes are a good place to start. Besides the taboo love themes though, the main difference between the two is that Angel Sanctuary is heavily fantasy based, while Koi Kaze is a set as a reality drama.

Aoi Hana

Aoi Hana

Shy, crybaby Fumi has just transferred into Matsuoka Girl’s High School, in the city of Kamakura. It’s been ten years since she moved away, leaving her dear friend Akira behind; and soon, the two are reunited once more. Akira is now attending Fujigaya Girls’ Academy, though she and Fumi still manage to see each other regardless. Between classes and social engagements, the two will experience love, the struggle to admit one’s true feelings, and the joy of companionship.

They have a similar air of sweetness to them, despite both being about forbidden love (Aoi Hana between lesbos, Koi Kaze between siblings.)

Boys Be

Boys Be

There is nothing more sad and pleasant than love in its various forms, and a group of high school students will discover them in this melancholy series. The focus is on Kanzaki Kyoichi, an artist and a dreamer at heart, and Nitta Chiharu, a track star and a childhood friend of Kyoichi's. From spring to summer to fall to winter, love will grow and fade, and grow again

Both are realistic romance animes and both have the same style of soundtrack!

I believe they are very similar in many point of view.

Koi Kaze and Bungaku Shoujo are drama/romance series with special emphasis on drama (and sometimes melodrama). Both favor pastels and a slow pace.

Hataraki Man

Hataraki Man

28-year-old Hiroko Matsukata is the definition of a workaholic. On top of smoking too much, rarely having sex and having lousy luck nurturing her romantic life, she works excessively to get the job done. Alongside many co-workers at the weekly news magazine Jidai, Hiroko tirelessly works on countless stories – thus negating any chance of a social life. Can Hiroko balance her home and work life, or is she doomed to be a 'working man' forever?

SomeoneElse

What does a story exploring genetic sexual attraction (Koi Kaze) have in common with a story about a Journalism Dynamo's personal sacrifice for professional growth (Hataraki Man)? Not much really, except for the incredibly frank way in which the two subjects are approached. While Koi Kaze's subject is decidedly more taboo than Hataraki Man's they both explore aspects of sexuality that aren't commonly popularized in a way that isn't meant to express judgment, rather to merely show things the way things truly are.
