In both cases the original manga was created by CLAMP. Not only does the setting and story feel very similar but there are lots of crossover-characters those shows share. Also both female leads are ahoge and search for their identity. Chobits is slightly more ecchi and funny but if you like that give it a try.

Both of these series are kind of centered around "the heart," be it delivering the heart or mending it. Also, each of these series leave a lot of questions unanswered for most or all of the series, while the main character kind of just runs around trying to deliver/mend hearts.

Both Kobato and Petite Princess Yucie involves a girl with her own goal, whether it be Kobato wishing to get to the place she wants to go or Yucie becoming a Platina Princess - either way, each anime deals with the two aiming for their own goal and getting nearer to it through their own actions. Both have the same feel to them with each being cute yet serious at times and involving many dealings with helping other people. If you enjoyed one, you'll definitly love the other.
