Well, if Kite and Battle Angel Alita had a child, the results would be Mardock Scramble.
In essence, both animes revolve around female protagonists, with backgrounds of tragedy and constant sexual abuse/rape, who eventually becomes gun wielding anti-heroes, in a sense.
Beware, both animes are rated mature for a reason, and are quite hard to sit through without feeling a sense of moral disgust. Expect to see gruesome rape scenes (Mardock is toned down though), many mature references to sexual abuse, and finally, gory action scenes.
Set in the not so distant future of troubled Tokyo, no job is too big or too small for the Danger Service Agency, as long as danger is involved. The crew is made up of an unlikely team of misfits: Mikura, a girl with a flair for guns and a love of martial arts, Kurokawa, an old man/ex-detective addicted to noodles, Harada, an engineering nut, and Asami, a schoolgirl. Unfortunately, no matter how small or simple job appears to be, the Dsa team always find themselves biting off more than they can chew...
Rin is a private investigator with an advantage: near immortality. Thanks to the spores of the Yggdrasill tree, both she and her assistant Mimi have lived many years longer than the average person. That isn’t to say that being immortal doesn't have its problems. With 'angels' wanting to devour them, the being Apos sending wave after wave of professional assassins to kill them, and constant hangovers from long nights of drinking, being immortal still has its downsides. With Apos' attempts at removing them from the picture increasing, can Rin and Mimi figure out what he is after so they can return to their morning shots of Vodka?
Kite and Mnemosyne are similar in the amount of explicit content they use. Both violent and sexual themes are present and have an important role in the story.
If you liked the way one of these utilizes the explicit content, you might enjoy the other one.
