Sakamoto Ryuunosuke is the son of the president of the Kidou Shinsengumi Corporation, a company that deals with capturing all unregistered youkai. Ryuunosuke has been studying abroad and has returned to Kyoto with his youkai, Nekomaru, to join the family business; but with the company in debt and the arduous task of having to fight the Tsubame Squad – who believe that youkai are being robbed of their freedom – Ryuunosuke has his work cut out for him! With others in the corporation trying to set him up with a girl from the local restaurant, and obstacles from loan collectors to a giant Kappa hell-bent on revenge standing in his way, can Ryuunosuke succeed, or will the company just end up in even more debt?
Kagome is a normal high school girl who falls into a well, transporting her back in time to the feudal era. Upon her arrival to this world, she mercifully unleashes Inuyasha, a half demon. As if this isn't enough, she also discovers that she is the bearer of the Shikon no Tama, a jewel of great spiritual power, a jewel which has just shattered into a million shards. Now, along with Miroku the priest, Sango the demon hunter, and Shippou the mischievious fox-demon, they must set out to find the Shikon shards and defeat the evils of the demon Naraku.
I have a feeling Moeyo Ken was directly inspired by Inuyasha. The character designs are very reminiscent of Rumiko Takahashi's art, and they both take place in a feudal Japan setting where monsters and demons abound.
In the city of Grand Zipangu, life is relatively quiet – that is, until the Clown Clan begins to rampage the city’s money exchange! After a confrontation with Chief Straw Hat and his partner Usopp, the clan’s boss, Buggy, uses a smoke bomb to escape. The following day Straw Hat receives an arrow with a note attached; if he wants Onami to live, he must go to the riverbank alone. Will Straw Hat be able to save the Pinwheel Inn’s hostess and free the town from the Clown Clan’s grasp? Some time later, Buggy is back and on the hunt for a mysterious girl named Vivi who has been taken in by Onami and Sanji to recover from her wounds. When Buggy and his clan hire the travelling Monk Zoro to help capture her, will Chief Straw Hat and the others be able to stop them? More importantly, what is the secret that Vivi is hiding?
While this may seem like an odd rec, bear with me. Though Kidou Shinsengumi Moeyo Ken TV is more supernatural, both anime are set in Fuedal Japan. Both are also a bit on the silly side and have a reasonable amount of action and general destruction. If you like this setting and enjoyed one, then you may want to check out the other.
