Fifteen-year-old Chacha is a typical teen with an atypical talent: she can communicate with cats. Though her friend Mito thinks this is the coolest ability in the world, Chacha finds her unique skill to be annoying at best and disruptive at worst. Whether she's dealing with countless strays proposing marriage, neighborhood cats offering to help her with tests or waking up to 'presents' on her bed in the night, Chacha's normal school life will be anything but!
A lady lives a quiet life with her two loves: alcohol, and her many cats. She’s had many of the latter over the years including an oft-grumpy Scottish Fold mix and Poko, an orange ball of energy who was abandoned as a kitten and saved to live another day. Whether the kitties are playing with cotton gloves, getting to know each other or causing mischief, they and the lady live happily together.
Kuruneko and Kemono to Chat revolve around a girl and her often hilarious or frustrating dealings with cats. If you liked one do try out the other!
Everyone around Kousaka seems to adore cats, but due to his allergies the teen can’t stand them. So when he wakes up one day and can hear what every feline is saying, Kousaka is annoyed to say the least. His new “gift,” it seems, is the result of accidentally breaking an enshrined statue of a cat; and what’s worse, Kousaka must atone for his sin and appease the vengeful spirit by aiding one hundred kitties-in-distress, or become a furry feline himself! Now, amidst helping various cats with mundane and trivial issues, Kousaka must try to dispel the jinx and attempt to salvage his self-respect – not to mention his love life - along the way.
Both Kemono to Chat and Nyan Koi are anime about high school students who can communicate with cats. yet find it particularly troublesome. If you enjoyed the feline-related comedy of one, you'll likely enjoy the other.
Tiny, abandoned Nyanpire would have died when he was the kitten if not for the help of a kind stranger… a stranger that happened to be a blood-sucking vampire! Bringing the feline back to life with a few drops of his blood, the man then vanished, leaving Nyanpire to fend for himself. Now, the whimsical kitty lives with Misaki as her housecat, and spends every moment of the day figuring out a new way to find or beg for blood, even if it means turning to a friend such as the samurai Masamunya or angel Nyantenshi!
If you're looking for cute cat-related anime with hilarious comedy and excessively cute cats (even moreso in Nyanpire) do check out either of these titles. Similar animation, too.
It's a basketball! It's a melon! It's… Poyo the cat?! After drunkenly stumbling across the bulbous, cuddly creature on the street one day, Moe Satou decides to bring the stray home and keep him in the house as a family pet. Whether he's lounging around or bringing snacks to the other strays in the neighborhood, Poyo is always getting into a variety of misadventures with his new owners and friends, including the lovable neighbor cat Kurobe, doting father Shigeru and a host of kittens.
Kemono to Chat and Poyopoyo are comedies about a girl and her cat - though Kemono focuses on far more cats and is crazier. Regardless, fans of one would appreciate the other for sure.
