Kasho no Tsuki is a tale of devotion between two companions -- Arimasu, a shunned shaman born of a human father and a demon-fox mother, and the one he saved as a child: Kagetsu, a member of a mountainous feline tribe, who can choose which sex to become once it mates. After years of lost contact, the two meet again, followed by Kagetsu asking to bear Arimasu's child. The problem? Kagetsu is currently in his male form. Things are complicated when Arimasu is set up for murder, causing the duo to escape back to the mountains of Kagetsu's birth.
Since he was a child, Kantaro Ichinomiya has had the ability to see demons; but one day, the young Kantaro was told of a goblin so powerful that it could vanquish any foe with ease. Intrigued, his search began. Now, in the present, Kantaro works as an exorcist, banishing demons who have possessed human bodies; yet still he searches – that is, until one day, he touches a mysterious seal and releases the legend itself! His name is Haruka, he's good with the ladies, and he can kick demon butt like no other; but can he help Kantaro raise enough money for his rent?
Both of these series focus on youkai, exorcism, and alienation because of power. The relationship between Arimasu and Kegetsu is very similar to that of Haruka and Kantaro. All four of them have power and yet depend on their partner for comfort, stability and sometime protection. If you enjoyed one you'll likely enjoy the other.
Tactics and Kasho no Tsuki are soul mates in more ways than one. Both anime have an historical setting in pre-industrial times and rely heavily on Japanese lore as well as traditional Japanese imagery. In these series a border between supernatural creatures and humans is blurred and the main characters in each are isolated from mankind at large due to their connection to the spirit world. Shounen-ai undertones abound in both, more pronounced in the drama driven Kasho no Tsuki than in the more comic Tactics; these shows manage to invoke a typically Japanese atmosphere in an accurate way and make a perfect match.
If you liked Kasho no Tsuki or if you enjoyed Tactics, then you would enjoy the other! Both have shounen-ai undertones. They both deal with exorcism/demons/youkai. Both Tactics and Kasho are both were the time, you will surley enjoy both.
