Both series while they are different on a couple of levels they are the same in that each main character are fighters who is very skilled in the use of the sword and have somewhat similar backgrounds. While Karas tends to be more towards the fanasty element and Kenshin tends to be more realistic they both have nicely done fight scenes and both are done rather nicely visually. Each series is also fairly violent and not afraid to become bloody. If you liked one then you'll probably like the other.

Created by Tatsunoko Production at the turn of the 21st century, Soul Taker and Karas are dark spins to the superhero archetype fashioned by Tatsuo Yoshida in the 1970's. Karas has a lot more going in the eye candy department, but Akiyuki Shinbo's direction in Soul Taker makes up for it.

If you want an hour and a half of amazing fights, great directing and dark, trippy imagery, you can't go wrong with either anime, and if you like one, you'll definitely like the other. KARAS is a lot newer and therefor prrettier, but both have steller animation.
