This is a difficult recommendation to write without spilling into spoiler land, but the fact is that both Kanon, and Da Capo Second Season deal with loss and acceptance in very similar ways, except in reverse chronological order. Both series have very blatant plot devices and a very strong undercurrent of romance. The reason I would recommend De Capo second Season over De Capo in relation to Kanon is that the characters in De Capo Second Season are less whimsical and flighty, and therefore carry a deeper emotional charge which is much closer to Kanon's out of the box shrink-wrapped with tears goodness.

There is the same type of feel to each of the characters in Kanon and Da Capo and each involve a high school setting. The series goes through how the characters learn and develop from each other and basically just being able to mature into a better person.

Myself; Yourself and Kanon involve a guy coming back after a long absence and having to connect again with the people he once left behind. Although Myself; Yourself presents itself in a more realistic situation whereas Kanon is full of fantasy, both have the same sort of message in the end.

i think that kanon and myself;yourself is very common in both ways it revoles around a young boy returing back to his childhood home town. Even though kanon is a bit fantancy.

Angel Tales

Angel Tales

They're the reincarnated angels of his deceased pets, and they're here to turn his luck around given how well he treated them in their past lives. While the idea sounds like a godsend, things don't go quite according to plan; the angels tend to cause more harm than good, and twelve altogether end up joining Goro's cramped household! In addition to learning how to co-exist with his newly acquired roommates, Goro must also defend them and himself against four sacred beasts who are after him for mysterious reasons. One thing's for certain: Goro's life will never be the same!

Kanon is another pioneer in the one guy, many girls subgenre of shounen anime. Based on a game, it uses a wide variety of characters and a melancholy atmosphere to pull the viewer into the experience. Fans of Angel's Tail's story should enjoy Kanon thoroughly -- especially the "fox" vignette.

Long lost relatives and big eyes, with a slight mysterious undertone make these two feel alot alike, though really they dont play out in the same way at all. (Except maybe in how the main crush is directed. Kannon lends itself more to seriousness while Asagiri no Miko tends to lighten things up occaisionally... make that fairly often. Also note that miko pants are in fact worn

Comic Party and Kanon are both cute anime based on popular dating sim games. Both these series are MUCH better than the usual anime-based-on-dating-sim games genre because they have engaging characters and actual plot. It is usually quite difficult to make an anime based on a dating sim, as every girl typically has her own story that requires a seperate playthrough of the game, so the anime series must compress it all into one showing. Comic Party features the adventures of a budding high school doujinshi artist, and Kanon is about a high schooler who returns to a town where he lived as a child and gradually rediscovers his past. Comic Party is consistently fun and light-hearted, but *WARNING*Kanon moves from cute and funny to sad to outright depressing. They are both lots of fun and worth watching!
