Both Kanon and Sola are series that have a very quiet and subdued feel to them at the beginning while giving the impression that more is going on than meets the eye. Both series also feature some very shocking twists, a nice romance story and a supernatural plot. Sola has a bit more action in it than Kanon and Kanon has the deeper love story.
On a slightly humourous note both series also have the feel of a really cheesy soap at times with the vast number of characters who suffer from amnesia at some point in both series :)
Both Kanon 2006 and Sola are filled with twists and turns in the plot until the very end of the series. The characters are also extremely well developed making the viewer sympathize with each and see their point of views. Very nice romantic atmospheres in each and supernatural scenes; it is also of interest to note that characters in each series suffer from a loss of memory.
At the beginnig the story seems to be typicall romance set in high school, but something is just not right. And then - blah! Yes, that's right, there is this fantasy plot along with normal storyline. So if this is what you have searched for, as well as kind of unexpected yet not unpredictable ending, try it!
The story of Yu Himura and Yuko Amamiya’s relationship is troubled and complex. She meets his smooth and handsome neighbor, Shuichi Kuze, and begins spending increasing amounts of time with him; they begin to fall for one another despite their age difference. The tale of these relationships thus begins to unfold.
Each of these series can be characterized by their superb OST, moving story, and the individuality of their story. If you enjoyed either of these series, there is little doubt you'll enjoy the other.
Children who go through some kind of tragedies while they are young come to face the consequences after they've grown up just a little bit. This may sound like the main plot for both Kanon and Ef- a tale of melodies. Each of the characters has his/her own problems and a unique personality. It is with the help and support of others that those problems are solved, after much pain. The animation is alike in both animes, wonderful, gives an aura of magic, which is anyway present. You will most certainly love how the characters evolve, as well as their relationships, and you will be saddened by certain unpleasant moments, and all in all, you will love both animes!

if you like kanon you would like Fruits Basket its a great romantic comady anime with alot of fun with abit of sad parts over all you might be able to find more thing thes two have in common have a nice day
Both are endearing romantic comedies. The lead girls are very sweet and a little ditsy, but also strong charaters. There's also elements of the supernatural in both.
Narumi Takayuki is a normal high school student with a crush on Mitsuki, the school's swim star -- that is, until he receives a profession of love from his friend Haruka. But amidst the beautiful budding relationship, tragedy strikes when an accident occurs, turning Narumi’s life upside-down. Kimi ga Nozomu Eien is a compelling drama about one man, and the choices he must make for love.
"Kanon" and "Kimi ga Nozomu Eien" are both stories that involve a heavy romantic center. They both have an interesting and developed male lead as well as moments that may bring a tear to your eye.
Some key differences are that "Kanon" is more focused on supernatural events, while "Kimi ga Nozomu Eien" is more realistic, less cliched, and believable, even though it may take you a few episodes to get hooked.
"Kimi ga Nozomu Eien" and "Kanon" both hold the same kind of melancholic mood set behind an initially happy and carefree setting. If you like anime with a more melancholic setting you will enjoy either one of these.
Ryuuji Takasu has an eventful life: his classmates think he's a delinquent due to his 'killer' eyes; his crush Minori seems ever out of reach; and he’s just had an unfortunate encounter with 'palm-sized Taiga' – a feisty and dainty wench in his class. With school rumors abounding, the duo must now work together to play matchmaker for each other. Who will end up with their true love?
Very similar both of the dude character meet a girls and fall for one of them. Both are Great!!!
How to male main character cares about his friends and doesn't want to lose them/takes care of them should is the main connection here.
Toradora! also contains some of that tear jerking magic and in depth character development that Kanon has however its not as powerfull as Kanon in that area because of the comedy side Toradora! has compared to Kanon.
