Synopsis:

Yuna and Mamoru have been friends all their lives, and know everything there is to know about each other. Well, except one little thing... hiding behind the nerdy glasses and lackadaisical appearance, Mamoru is actually a fiercely trained ninja – the youngest of the ninja family who has been protecting Yuna’s family for 400 years! The air headed Yuna believes her "Mamo-kun" is just a childhood friend, who coincidentally has lived beside her all her life... even when they moved! But while deceiving Yuna is easy enough, protecting her is another story. Can Mamoru keep the disaster-attracting Yuna from danger, while keeping his cover?

Ninjas, foes, pledges, love and idiotic girls. The series are very similar so I'm sure you also like this one if you liked the other anime!

cassiesheepgirl

Both of these series focus on a young ninja who is vowing to protect their master. They also contain a reasonable amount of humour and a central non-ninja protagonist who is somewhat bumbling and clumsy. While Kage Kara Mamoru has more plotline than Himawari!, if you enjoy watching anime about young ninjas as they struggle to either learn the ropes or come to terms with their duty then these series may be for you.

What's a guy to do? Surrounded by beautiful girls who all vie for his attention ....and who also like to beat the crap out of him. While Love Hina and Kage Kara Mamoru have totally different storylines they both follow the (mostly comical) journey of a boy and girl who made a special promise as children, and the hardships they must overcome to fulfill it.

Azumanga Daioh

Azumanga Daioh main image

Ten-year-old genius Chiyo, animal-loving Sakaki, loudmouth Tomo, athletic Kagura, weight-conscious Yomi and dim-witted Osaka are six friends who share laughs, good times, and a high school homeroom. With scary (and sometimes perverted) teachers, school festivals, penguin suits and general hilarity abounding, you can be sure that there's never a dull day in the life of one of these students!

Both Kage Kara Mamoru! and Azumanga Daioh have similar character designs, and a good cast of strange yet unique girls(and a guy in KKM). They are both pretty comedy based, though azumanga is more so and more random, while kage kara mamoru has more action mixed in. I think they're still a good match and if you've seen&liked one you should look into the other.

Magikano

Magikano main image

Haruo is a short geeky schoolboy with a whiny voice and glasses, and the only one in his family without magic powers. Therefore it should come as no surprise that his life is a constant struggle to prevent being ravished by any nearby female. When a witch under a curse named Mamiya enters the fray, Haruo's precious maidenhood that he holds onto so dearly is placed in grave danger. With the added risqué brought on by the arrival of this new number one contender, Haruo's struggle becomes even more desperate, and his hidden powers begin to awaken.

Both the animes are very alike.

Both have a group of girls falling for one guy(who is like a loser with specs in both the animes) and looking after him. But the guy is oblivious to their feelings.

And the girls keep competing amongst themselves to be close to him leading to hilarious situations
