Both shows are about racing, although a bit diffrent bicycle/car the enjoyment is all the same. Main characters are a little unsociable at first but after a while they open up, they are equally talented and they train hard to achieve victory in races. If you like slow paced but fun to watch sport anime I think this is what you were looking for.
