Earth has a new problem: the Cthuwulf, an all-female race of aliens who are set on invading and conquering the blue planet. Luckily for humanity, Iczer-One, a rebellious woman made by the Cthuwulf, comes to save the day. However, her powers cannot be released without synchronizing with a human being, and thus, she chooses Nagisa, a whiny high-school girl who wants nothing more than to stay out of trouble. Can Iczer-One and the bumbling Nagisa save the human race and defeat the evil Big Gold?
In the early 21st century, insectoid organisms are invading the galaxy, searching for new stars to house their young. Mankind's only defense lies with space cadets such as Takaya Noriko, daughter of a celebrated admiral killed in battle, and Amano Kazumi, the top of her class. With their skill and the power of the mecha known as GunBuster, the girls must help fight to protect the galaxy from total annihilation...
Both series are about girls who kick ass, a lot of ass. Iczer-One is WAY more all about the gore than Gunbuster and it is slightly harder to follow where Gunbuster is pretty clear on what is happening. Gunbuster is by far the more superior than Iczer-One but both are so similar in style if you liked one you just might like the other.
