Gon and Killua finally have a means of which to enter Greed Island, a game designed just for Hunters. Are their Nen abilities strong enough to help them survive in this new world? They must now train and grow stronger to uncover their secret abilities. With a helping hand from Bisque, they will be able to continue their quest to unravel the mystery behind Gin Freaks and this 'almost too real' hunter game.

Like HXH, .hack//SIGN is another anime about a 'game' the characters log into. Although, you would want to watch the Hunter X Hunter TV series first to understand what's going on. But, the characters in both these anime must find a way to escape the game.
In this HxH OVA Gon and Killua are playing inside Greek Island. .hack//SIGN has a similar aspect where the protagonist character is forced to stay inside the game.

Again since the creators of HxH and Naruto are friends in life... their anime have some similarities. Gon and Naruto share similar traits... one of which is ignorance! You also get the same warm feeling from them and feel like you've known them awhile.

Both SAO and HXH greed island Ova are about a boy going inside a video where if you die in the game you die for real.
