The time for the secret Yorkshire auction is near, and Kurapica's plans of revenge are at hand. By night, Gon, Killua, and Leorio must fight alongside him to protect the auction pieces and defeat the Spiders. By day, Gon and Killua must raise money for their ultra rare copy of Greed Island, a game designed only for hunters. Will conflicting motives ruin their chances to protect the auction?
In a bleak look at the future, Avenger takes place in a desolate wasteland filled with domed cities. Fighters from each town battle each other for power and prestige. Avenger follows the path of Leila, one of these fighters, as well as Nei, a young being called a "doll" (an android created to live with and serve humans), as they leave their home city, travelling into the wasteland.
Revenge theme - that sums it up. If you loved the last episodes of hxh the series , and hxh ova 1 I believe you'll also like Avenger. Now, it is true that animes are totally alike, sharing only angst, revenge and beautiful drawing style. Still, I believe you should give it a try.
Oboro, a naive, love-struck girl, is pledged to Gennosuke, an idealist. Both are successors to opposing ninja clans with a long history of hatred kept barely in check by a covenant of peace. Just as the two vow to reconcile the clans with their marriage, the shogun orders the feud to resume in order to resolve an internal struggle that threatens to tear the Tokugawa shogunate apart. Even worse, Oboro and Gennosuke themselves are forced to lead their clans in battle. Can the star-crossed lovers resist the brutal circumstances and remain true to their love as the death toll rises?
Despite being very different at first sight, both are anime that have characters with powerful abilities and emphasize the story. The characters' motives might be different, but the stories' consequences are very alike. Both Basilisk and the HxH OVA have a story involving a group who must survive, and fun tactical games.
In 2010, the Britannian Empire enslaved Japan using powerful mecha known as Knightmares; in the aftermath Japan was renamed Area 11, and its people began a hard and terrible existence. Lelouch, a Britannian student living in Area 11, has grown up hating the Empire and everything it stands for. One day, in the middle of a terrorist attack, Lelouch meets a mysterious girl who grants him the ability to control minds. Can he use his new power to fight for freedom, or will his hatred twist his good intentions into mindless acts of vengeance?
HxH OVA and Code Geass have a few things in common. But what really draws in the same fans are the tactical mind games that are played in both anime. Surely some shounen and superpowers are a nice addition to that, which only reinforces this recommendation!
Have you ever felt like the world would be a better place if certain people weren’t around? Such grim daydreams might occur when watching the dismal daily news, but on one fateful day, Yagami Light finds that these daydreams can become reality. By pure happenstance, he comes across a black notebook entitled "Death Note", whose text within states that whoever's name is written on its pages will die. With the aid of the death god Ryuk, Light takes it upon himself to rid the world of its corruption, ushering in a new era of purity one death at a time. But as Ryuk foretells, Light's actions will not go unchallenged...
Death Note and the HxH OVA are both amazing and very enjoyable tactical mind games! There is no way you'd like one and not like the other. DN is a bit darker and HxH has a tad more action (though I can't really call it an action anime like the HxH series). Yet the flow of the stories are similar enough to recommend these two for each other!
In the world of underground fighting, there is no time limit, no referee, and no ban of technique, not even murderous ones. This is the underground world that Baki, the young champion fighter must fight in to show the world how strong he can be. Only by challenging and accepting the strongest opponents from the world can he hope that one day he can overcome his greatest opponent of all, his father.
Both series are rather dark and concentrate mostly on fighting. Both main characters train in order to have their revange, the thing that makes them stand out is definitelly their atmosphere and fighting sequences. Some of them are really memmorable and you will need weeks to forget them. If you liked one you should like the other.
