While watching “horizon" I thought of Elemental Gelade
Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon(Horizon) is similar to Elemental Gelade on a number of key points. The first and main point is the way the main female works and how she handles emotions. (I tried to leave it as vague as possible as not to spoil anything). There is also a romance in “Horizon” which makes it similar to Elemental Gelade. The differences between them are that “Horizon” is a ecchi and more comedic amine whereas Elemental Gelade is a action/romance.
All that being said if you don’t mind the ecchiness or sexual references that are in “horizon” and there is a lot of them you might like it, if you like Elemental Gelade.
Once upon a time, two brothers passed the happy days of their childhood by studying alchemy, which is governed by the equal transfer principle: an eye for an eye -- you can't get more than you give. But these brothers tried to defy that law, and a horrific accident resulted. Now, the older brother, Edward, is called the Full Metal Alchemist because of his metal limbs, and the younger, Alphonse, is a soul without a body, trapped within the confines of an automaton. Together they search for the power to restore themselves, to find the lives they lost so long ago...
In both shows the protagonist(s) are largely defined by the tragic death of someone they were close to as children.
Also, there is a blending of science and magic and battles are often fought in both cases with highly specialized and unusual abilities.
Akuto Sai enters the Constant Academy for Magick Arts hoping to become a high priest and change the world for the better. But when the school's oracle declares his future profession to be 'Demon Lord', he finds himself feared and hated by the entire student population. Now, instead of making comrades and studying for his exam, Akuto finds himself fighting off monsters, bullies, and well-meaning classmates in various states of undress. If navigating a magical high school as a transfer student wasn't difficult enough, Akuto now has to deal with a cute android ordered to observe him 24-hours a day, the precocious attention of the flying, invisible and naked Keena Soga and the advances of the school's most popular girl. Will he be able to overcome his fate, pass his classes, and mend his friendship with the violent Junko Hattori, or will he succumb to his demonic destiny?
If you liked Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou (Demon King Diamou) or Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon (Horizon in the middle of Nowhere) you'd like the other.
In Ichiban the main character right away has straight forward goals, which is against the will of everyone else. He wants to be a priest of the church and wants to help everyone; and a oracle-like hat tells him that he is going to be a demon king; which is obviously against what his goals are.
In Horizon the main character is a total male-slut (lack of vocabulary to say). You find out that he only has one person who he loves, Horizon who is a girl that died when he was young. Everyone wants to fight his idea that Horizon will come back, he wants to tell her he loves her.
Bottum point, they are good shows. Watch the recommendation.
In the world of Prestal, Noble men perform noble deeds for noble purposes. All of this is performed under the careful gaze of the Guild, a race apart who live in cities in the sky. We see this world through the eyes of Claus Valca and Lavi Head, as their travels take us above, beyond and through Prestal, and their actions cause ripples that shall never fade.
These two shows have a lot more in common than is immediately apparent:
Feudal, warring states, a lost past, a special airship which acts as the centerpiece, a girl who holds an earth-shaking secret, and a protagonist who will struggle against entire empires to keep her safe.
On the eve of nobleman Oz Bezarius's fifteenth birthday, he and his loved ones gather to celebrate in a coming-of-age ceremony. But after Oz steps under a long-stopped clock and the hands finally move once more - thus fulfilling a mysterious prophecy - he is violently thrown into the legendary prison known as the Abyss by three cloaked intruders. Existing in another dimension, the Abyss is home to lifeforms born within its walls known as Chains; these beings can only live in the real world if they make contracts with humans, binding their power to the person's body. However, there's a catch - in time, the human will be overcome by the Chain's power and then thrown into the deepest level of the Abyss. When Oz wakes up in the Abyss he is quickly attacked by hungry Chains, only to be saved by one named Alice - a Chain who appeared just before he was thrown into the prison. Together, the two make a contract and return to the real world, where they are enlisted into the Pandora organization - a group researching both the Abyss and the trio that threw Oz into it. Along with members of Pandora, the duo searches to find Alice's lost memory fragments that are scattered throughout the world, to discover the secrets of the Abyss, and to determine if there's a way their contract can be broken without killing either Oz or Alice.
If you liked Horizon in the middle of Nowhere or Pandora Hearts then you would like the other.
In Pandora the main character has a warped history and feels unwanted, he sticks up and puts on a pretend smile; while crying on the inside. He fights with his abysall friend against other abysall monsters in search for memories for the female main character.
In Horizon the main character has a sad past for his loved friend who died, him and his friends go on an adventure to rescue her; he has many depressions. At the end of the story, if he becomes sad he will disappear with a new powerful ability to strengthen others. This is to rescue a recently dead now alive girl from his past.
They are good animes if you like the other. Watch them, and you'll know.
