Fairyland is in peril! The Super Miracle Idols have disappeared, flowers have stopped blooming and the Happiness Tones that come from inside people’s hearts are no longer available to restore balance to the world. The Queen, concerned, sends the three creatures Dai, Sei and Ryoku to the human world in order to find three princesses that can help make people happy and restore the Happiness Tones. Now, Natsuki, Ringo and Layla – once three normal girls – must transform into the idol group Lilpri with the help of their newfound friends and help save Fairyland in the process!
Everybody knows it's tough being an idol, especially the girls at 765 Production. Made up of thirteen young ladies, the group constantly attempts to improve its image by taking new promo shots and booking the best gigs possible, whether it's being a concert star or a quirky cooking show guest. Led by the kind-hearted and determined Producer, these talented performers such as twins Mami and Ami, quiet Yukiho, clumsy Haruka and gifted singer Chihaya will do their best to become the best idols around.
If you enjoyed the Idol aspects of Hime Chen, you should watch The Idolm@ster- it appeals to a slightly more mature audience and has a larger soundtrack. Although the shows aren't entirely similar (Hime Chen being more like a fairy tale) they do contain moments of tension, emotions and a huge variety of outfits (one of the best things about both Hime Chen and Idolm@ster is the creativity put into the outfit designs) which probably means fans of Hime Chen will love The Idolm@ster!
