I was elated when I started to watch "He is My Master". It wasn't really much that I liked the anime, but the similarities and different aspects of it compared to "They are my Noble Masters" was refreshing and sorta kinlike. While both series focus on protagonists that are down on their luck with no job and little to no money. In both series they find jobs as maids/housekeepers to some wierd, and heavily echii hosts all the while fullfilling their duties, and denying some of the others lol. I found the transition between these 2 animes was one of the easiest I've had.

yet again a pair of peas in the pod they both have unfortunate runaways that turn into Butler/maids Both main have their own personal reasons that the run away giving them all a realistic touch. some problem are easyly related to will others will just keep you guessing and wanting more.

If you liked He is my master or They Are My Noble Masters, you'd like the other because....both are similar how they both deal with kids running away from there home for one reason or another. And end up becoming a butler/maid they both Ecchi and maids of course and a Harem feel to it and Perverted Masters in them.

Grach Grach says...

The two of these anime are entirely similar. They feature a group of runaways who are then taken in by masters that are perverted in some way. The feature the usual ecchi situations, and more!

If you've seen one, then the other is right for you!

With the exception of his mother, he is allergic to females and their advances, something the maids offer plentifully in their attempts to help him succeed in everything from going to the bathroom to passing math class!

Both He is My Master and HMT are about unbelievably rich people and maids. He is My Master can also be seen as a parody for this kind of anime.

JetBlack JetBlack says...

HIMM and HMT are both maid-themed "harem" ecchi series. There's plenty of fanservice and cute girls in fetching uniforms, for those who enjoy that sort of thing. The biggest difference is probably that the male lead in HIMM is the sexual aggressor, whereas in HMT, it is the maids that pursue the "master" of the house.

TheGiftedMonkey TheGiftedMonkey says...

Seperate sides of a coin here. Hanaukuyo's protagonist stumbles across a mansion filled with maids that will tend to his "every" whim. He is My Master's protagonist happens to have two sisters stumble upon his mansion and he forces them to become his miads and serve his every whim. Both are hilarious and it's fun to see this super-harem and anti-harem back to back.

Trojohn101 Trojohn101 says...

though the mains in these two are on opposite reseaving ends of the maids they both turn into a hilarous showand leave the charactors in some very how shoud you say... unfavorable circumstances with others

chii chii says...

Fanservice? Check. Ecchi? Check. Maids? Check. The hilarity in both of these anime almost make it seem like they were made for each other! While the young master in Hanaukyo Maid Team seems more bashful than the young master in He is My Master there is never a dull moment in these mansions.

Whilst both stories are based on repayment of a debt by working for a master, Hayate features a male butler and He is my Master uses two female maids.

Both have comedic pets (who can forget the perverted Pochi the alligator...) and a splash of fan serving panty shots. Cute comedies with romantic undertones, and both come highly recommended.

SaiAkuto SaiAkuto says...

Both series are aboutbutlers who have a lot of funny problems while serving their masters. If you like that king of humor you will for sure like the anime I recommend.

Trojohn101 Trojohn101 says...

I recommend these to any who hasn't seen the other becuse of the simularity in theme, they both go upon the maid butler kind of anime and both have a odd yet msater. Both are funny and will draw you back to watch more episodes and are very enjoyable.

Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran High is a school for the extremely wealthy or, in Haruhi's case, the extremely talented. But no amount of talent will help when Haruhi accidentally drops an eight million yen vase in a music room. The vase was the property of Ouran High School Host Club, a group of attractive young men who, for a fee, provide their time and affections for their lovesick clientele: the female students. Fascinated by this strange new specimen, a poor and clumsy commoner, they force Haruhi to work for them until the debt is repaid; but they get a lot more than they bargained for...

FalseDawn FalseDawn says...

Both have a similar basis in that the main character is poor and breaks something valuable, so he/she spends the rest of the series attempting to make up for this. Both series have their charms - HiMM has Mitsuki's fantastic array of challenges, whereas Ouran has a great cast of characters. While the story is lacking in both, the comedy and insane energy of the two series make them worth watching.

caitlin caitlin says...

Both Ouran High School Host Club and He is my Master have a similar underlying plot, of a 'commoner' (or two, in HimM's case) falling in with the rich, breaking something (or many things) valuable, and earning a debt that they must serve off by serving the rich person/people in some way. Both also have a similar vein of comedy, and characters that joke about their starring in a 'love comedy'. If you liked one, I'm sure you'd like the other.

Beautiful young girl forced to work for money by a high school boy (or boys as it were) for less than scrupulous motives.... Sounds like a great anime to me!! Master and Host Club are two of the funniest animes I've ever seen! Love the humor and acctually have good life lessons inbetween all the ecchi! Both are definatly worth your time!

DarkMissingno DarkMissingno says...

Both Mahoromatic and He is My Master are about a boy and one or more girls who try to be his maids for different reasons. There is also a Mahoro doll in He is My Master, and the typical "how many days or money are left" idea.

JetBlack JetBlack says...

Mahoromatic is another maid-focused ecchi series, with sufficient fanservice to please any HIMM fan; but it tends to be a bit more towards two-fisted action. The heroine (Mahoro) is a powerful battle android who chooses to "retire" and live out the remaining year of her service lifetime as a maid for a lonely orphan boy. Of course, events conspire against her staying off the battlefield for long. The genre fusion seems unlikely, but it really works quite well.

Inukami!

Inukami!

The Kawahira family specializes in dealing with troublesome spirits with the help of inukami, strong dog spirits that take human form. Members of the family are expected to make pacts with strong inukami in order to fulfill their duties, but their family has a black sheep: the perverted Keita, who charges people for his help. His inukami, Youko, is dedicated to make Keita completely hers. Her favorite form of punishment for him when he strays is teleporting him into the city completely naked. He's been arrested for indecent exposure so many times that he's a jailhouse regular, and is considered an outcast by his family and normal society; yet an inukami of the highest caliber chose to be his partner?! Is there really more to him than perverseness?

Ninomiya-kun must take care of a well-endowed succubus girl who makes every man around her enter a zombie-like state just by looking her. He must also endure his class president's unrequited love, and some other girls fighting for him.

He's is My Master's plot is much simpler: grab a couple of cute teens and get them into French maid costumes and some other anime cosplay. It develops into a love-hate scenario, with lots of fanservice.

You'll love these series because of the fanservice in both, the characters they use and they both have masters! If you like one, you'll like the other.
