When the head monk of a temple leaves to go on an errand, he leaves a young monk in charge of guarding a precious sakura tree while he is gone. Shortly after, the young lad begins to doze off, only to be awakened by a sneaky samurai and his servant desiring to have a picnic under the sacred tree. Despite his less than reliable nature, the monk refuses them entry, but at the scent of their sake, he begins to reconsider. Will the young man be able to hold true to his orders, or will the temptation of alcohol win him over?
