Ryokitsuki Ryokitsuki says...

Get Backers and .hack//SIGN have a similarity with characters and an initial plot. MacubeX and Tsukasa are both questioning their existence. In Get Backers, however, MacubeX takes his depression to an extreme; while in Tsukasa's case you get a small picture of a bigger problem. Both anime are entertaining in their own right, though Get Backers, not centered around a depressed main character, is humorous; and .hack//SIGN, while centered around a lone speculative child, is more thought-provoking. If you enjoy one you will enjoy how the other looks at the possibility in a different light.

Oh how technology controls us, we like to pretend it is our slave when really, it is our master. The artwork is simply stunning, the littlest details done to the tee. The soundtracks fit each scene so well that it drags you into the story. You feel like you have become one with it, that your sitting on the sidelines watching it all unfold. Simply not to be missed. I recomend highly though that both be watched in their native language of Japanese with the subtitltes of your language choice. So many little details were lost in the translation. Details that just make it that much more amazing.

Unlike some anime where characters have straightforward backgrounds, both .hack//sign and Revolutionary Girl Utena create exciting puzzles out of their characters and plots that keep viewer engaged. Both utilize complex characters and relationships to drive passionate dramas, despite their completely different scenarios

Le Portrait de Petit Cossette and .hack//SIGN both feature similar male lead characters with somewhat alarming personality issues, and a mysterious girl with a strong but difficult to grasp connection to the main character. They both keep you guessing as to what's actually going on deep into the series, and both feature beautiful and surreal areas for the anime to take place.

I actually bought Baldr Forces DVD because it looked like dot hack from the cover since it looked all virtual and stuff. Baldr force has A.I.s, a boundary between real and virtual that definately has been crossed. It also has a character trapped between the virtual world and the real world, much like .hack//signs main character, Tsukasa.  These two series are very similar, but also have their own appeal that wont make them seem exactly the same. If you like one of these, do yourself a favor and check the other out.

All of this is bad news for Rhiannon's protective but hot-headed brother Arthur, who must now pledge his knightly service to his new Lord, Arawn. Dungeons and Dragons style, with swords and magic. The animation is practically the same, especially dress and hair styles. Although Tears to Tiara is more eventful, there is similar fighting in each.
