However, upon breaking out onto the surface world, Simon, Kamina, and Yoko encounter enemies more powerful than they could have envisioned. Wimp is the word I would use to describe the main characters of these animes. In both animes you will find that the main characters are both wimps, however through trail and tribulation they end up going farther then they ever thought possible.
Besides the wimpy main characters you will also see the one they hope to be. These characters are the leaders in there respective groups and is loved by everyone. These characters also both challenge the power that supresses the people, drawing in the main characters to help.
So we got, wimpy main characters, Strong and inspiring leaders, are we missing something? Oh yeah how about mecha battles. Both animes have mecha battles however I would say Gurren Lagann has better mecha battles that Guilt Crown.
So to end this I will say this. Both are great, Both will leave you wanting more after each episode but a fair warning Guilty Crown is a bit darker then Gurren Lagann, however I would still recommend watching both because they are both worth your time.
Rin Okumura is a seemingly ordinary boy living at the Southern Cross Boys' Monastery. One day, however, Rin encounters a boy who has been possessed by a demon. Amidst the struggle, he not only awakens latent powers sealed within him, but also learns that he is the son of Satan! No longer able to stay under the protection of the church and with his very existence straddling the line between human and demon, Rin decides to fight against his parentage and joins the True Cross Order as an exorcist. Now, the teen must attend the True Cross Academy and begin special exorcist training alongside his new comrades all while keeping his identity a secret; but can the son of Satan really become a true exorcist?
Great visuals, fast paced and a fairly original plot. If you like the whole, "lets band together to save the world," feel then Blue Exorcist and Guilty Crown are right for you. Blue Exorcist very much like Guilty Crown are weapon based adventures, that push the protagonist to the inner limits. Well the time watching.
Death and reincarnation are inescapable, but what happens in between? Without warning and without his memories, a boy who only recalls his last name - Otonashi - wakes up next to a girl named Yuri who offers him a gun and tells him to shoot an angel. Assuming it must be a misunderstanding, Otonashi is then almost killed by the angel and is drawn into Yuri's army to battle to delay the beginning of his next life. Immortality is within reach, but if Otonashi remembers how he died, will he keep fighting or allow himself to vanish?
In the future, a system called Sibyl presides over the country and provides order to every facet of life. It dictates which job fields citizens should go into based on aptitude tests, and can even read each resident's mental state and predict which ones are likely to commit crimes in the future. Fresh from exams, Akane Tsunemori is beginning her career as an Inspector, a specialized police officer who works to apprehend these latent criminals and stop crimes before they happen. But not all that get caught are eliminated or jailed, some join the police force as Enforcers to provide insight into criminals’ minds, and Akane is warned not to get too close to them, as they're considered little more than hunting dogs. Though skeptical of this advice, and Sibyl's judgement, Akane is determined to work together with her Enforcers to protect the peace of her city and its inhabitants.
The settings of both series seem to be the same: dark, gritty, and futuristic with some pretty kick-ass technology. That aside, the animation in both seem pretty top-notch, the music is amazing (in fact, the ED theme in Psycho-Pass is performed by EGOIST, a fictional band within Guilty Crown created by ryo of supercell with the vocalist Chelly), and both seem to have protagonists who seem to be initially weak in the sense of fighting, but are called upon to fight anyways. I should probably add that these are both Production I.G. anime, so I suppose its only natural that the animation seems so similar.
Hakaze, princess of the Kusaribe mage clan, has been betrayed and marooned on an island by her own people. They seek to revive the Tree of Exodus, an incomprehensibly powerful entity of alien origin, to save the world from the tyranny of its antithesis: the Tree of Genesis that powers their magic. Hakaze, however, believes their efforts put humanity in jeopardy; and with her power limited, she can only reach out to the world to beg for aid. Her call reaches Mahiro Fuwa, a young man grieving the mysterious death of his sister, Aika. He and his friend Yoshino agree to help - on the condition that Hakaze track down Aika's killer with her magic. The deal is made, and the battle that will determine civilization's fate is begun: but who will play the part of its villain, and who its savior?
1) Both animes are set in apocalyptic Japan
2) Both apocalypses are caused by a source that makes people´s body turn into crystal/metal
3) Main characters are bound by friendship
4) Some higher power (state, the powerful) is trying to suppress/kill them
both animes are very similar to each other, its just that Guilty crown has mechas X Zetsuen has magic
