Sousuke Sagara is far from the average high school student - not only is he highly trained in military tactics, he puts his knowledge to use in every single applicable situation (and even those nonapplicable ones.) So, when confronted with high school, he tends to turn average high school experiences into off-the-wall adventures. Love letters become terrorist threats and field trips become commando operations; his survival depends on the watchful eye of his best friend and classmate, Kaname. Together, they may just make it out of high school alive...
In Gintoki's Japan, the arrival of the various space races known collectively as the Amanto ended the era of the samurai. The Amanto's highly advanced technology resulted in total conquest and a severe economic shift. Now, former samurai such as Gintoki scrape together whatever livelihood they can. Gintoki's profession of choice is that of a yorozuya: he'll complete any job for money. However, he’s unmotivated; and spending most of the day on the couch with the latest issue of Jump and a carton of Strawberry Milk is his preferred pastime. It turns out that his new unpaid employees, Shinpachi and Kagura, are going to interfere with his pastime even more than with his "work"! Of course, none of this means he has really given up on his samurai ideologies!
Both shows have a really lazy, lax, and irresponsible male protagonist that likes to screw around most of the time, but actually has a lot of talent and skill to get things done.Whereas Gintama has an obvious story to it, GTO is more episodal with no technical story to speak of. But they are both very funny shows and you will definitely enjoy one if you saw the other.
Hanada Ichiro is an abrasive young man who lives with his hag of a mother, his father the drunk, his grandfather the absent-minded, and his older sister. One sunny afternoon, Ichiro's rebellious antics finally take a turn for the worse, causing him to get hit by a car. When he awakens, he discovers that he has the ability to see ghosts, and converse with them (much to his dismay, since they all seem to want helpful favors). Will Ichiro's newfound ability be a blessing, or just another annoyance in his life?
A hero so unlikely and, at first glance, so unlikeable, that he almost makes you cringe with embarassment -- yet a hero nonetheless. This is the common theme of Hanada Shounen-shi and Great Teacher Onizuka. In both stories, we are presented with a low and vulgar person, a person with whom we would never normally associate the idea of heroism. Yet, as the stories progress, both Hanada Ichiro and Onizuka Eichi prove to us that, for all their shortcomings, they have what it takes to be genuine heroes.
If you like one of these anime, don't let your initial distaste for the protagonist of the other dissuade you from seeing it through to the end. You'll thank yourself for staying the course, when you do.
The average Tsukushi Makino attends the snobby, elite Eitoku Academy, which is dominated by the Flower Four (F4) – the sons of the most powerful families. Like the rest of her classmates, Tsukushi keeps a low profile until one day she can stand it no more! For her obstinance, the F4 declare war and it's Tsukushi against all. In the middle of it all, she finds herself drawn strangely close to two of the F4; they might not be as bad as they seem. With her heart torn between two boys, will Tsukushi be able to find the love she desires?
Teaching, Mako thought, would be a walk in the park. With no overtime and long winter and summer vacations, she’d be able to easily save money for the day that she could retire – or so she thought. For Mako has been assigned to the worst of the worst, class 2-D of Ushi High, a group comprised solely of delinquents! In addition to having to tame these unruly boys Mako finds herself with another task as well – to become the new coach for the rugby team, at her principal’s request. Can Mako convince her boys to fight on the playfield instead of brawling in the streets?
Both of these animes are teacher relevant. They both deal with delinquent students and are both perverted. The teachers both have the amazing power to win over the class and have to fight off the students in order to gain control. As nothing in the world could compete with GTO, Madonna is a good thing to watch if you have a spare hour or so.
