With a history of leading a motorcycle gang and getting bad grades in school, why would 22 year old Onizuka ever want to become a teacher? Is it to educate young minds or spread the joy of education? Sure, if it involves being able to look up high school girls' skirts! Watch as this would-be educator uses his own life lessons and unconstituted methods as a means to control a delinquent class of students -- students who certainly aren't as happy to have him as a teacher as he is happy to be teaching...
Ten-year-old genius Chiyo, animal-loving Sakaki, loudmouth Tomo, athletic Kagura, weight-conscious Yomi and dim-witted Osaka are six friends who share laughs, good times, and a high school homeroom. With scary (and sometimes perverted) teachers, school festivals, penguin suits and general hilarity abounding, you can be sure that there's never a dull day in the life of one of these students!
Yet more high school antics! AD is more on the cutsie side of anime than GTO, but the teachers are no less crazy. :)
Ryo Saeba and Kaori Makumura are private detectives who make up the City Hunter team -- problem solvers who can be hired by writing 'xyz' in a certain train station. Ryo's uncanny accuracy with a gun is surpassed only by his lecherous tendencies, while Kaori provides the sideline support -- usually in the form of a 50,000 kg mallet to keep Ryo's ecchiness under control!
In both anime the protagonists appear to be perverted and silly most of the time, but in reality they have a serious and soft side when necessary. In GTO, when it's time for action Onizuka will do anything to protect his students, and the same goes for Ryo when it comes to his clients in City Hunter. If you loved one series the you will certainly love the other.
If you watched City Hunter, you'd know how much Ryo would do anything for some Panties. Onizuka, a man who becomes a Teacher for the sake of looking at High School girls isn't so different. Both main characters are very perverted and silly however when it comes down to getting the job done, neither give up!
Not only are the characters similar, but both shows are episodic in nature, and have a very positive outlook on things. When the going gets tough, both protagonists manage to save the day with style, despite their ecchi inclinations.
Deep in the mountains, isolated from civilization, there is a boys-only school that will finally be receiving its first class of girls in an attempt to transform the school into a co-ed one. Most of the boys have never been in contact with girls of their own age, leading to an explosion of hormonal craziness. From the sickeningly perverted fetishist guys, to a rather odd girl that seems to be chasing the most normal guy in the school for reasons known only to her, there's twisted humor to be had.
Both GTO and Green Green are lighthearted comedies with a lot of ecchi. What's more is that these aren't the usual plotless comedies. GTO has a story of turning a delinquent into a teacher, while Green Green has a romantic story included. Even though the themes are somewhat different, you'll definitely have your laughs in both.
Both GTO and Green Green venture into the lives of school students - though in very different ways - through the feelings of love and lust for the opposite sex. Both anime are very humorous and have plenty of laughs to be had.
Both are geat animes based on school life. Green Green and GTO are one of the funniest animes ive ever seen so if you like comedy and perverted characters this is your way to go.
Hibiki is unemployed, unmotivated, and out of luck. But it seems his luck just might change: a nearby school is looking for qualified instructors, but there's a catch.. females only! With rent looming around the corner and the landlord threatening to cook the dog if you don't pay up, what's a guy to do? Become a woman, of course. Watch Hibiki as he blunders his way through embarassing situations, under the close scrutiny of the headmaster's gaze and his female students' admiration.
Both "Strawberry Eggs" and Great Teacher Onizuka tell the story of a male teacher who has such a passion and desire to teach that they will go to any lengths to reach their students. Both series dive deeply into the realtionship between teacher and student, and are very touching stories about this kind of love. They both make me wish I had teachers like Hibiki and Onziuka when I was going to high school.
The passion, love, determination, and wisdom these two men show is really inspiring. If you're a fan of high school drama, comedy, and/or stories that really lift your heart, give Strawberry Eggs and GTO a go.
If you liked GTO, or the other way around, you will like the other. Both have teachers, that will do anything for their students. Both teachers get into the lives of their students, learning all the way about everyone. They both have humor/comedy. And they both have an ending that makes you wanting for more.
Yukino had it all. Brilliant, athletic, popular and pretty, she was the perfect school girl with many friends and admirers. But then one fateful day she met her match: a handsome young man named Arima. Now, not only is he beating her at her own game, she's becoming more and more dismayed to learn that she's developing her first real feelings of romance. Can Yukino maintain her model student appearance, or will love ruin all her plans?
Kare Kano is another anime set in a high school environment. Just like GTO, Kare Kano has plenty of comedy and even adds more romance into the mix. Kare Kano also has the same underlying serious subjects which are brought up in a really funny way. Despite being quite different on the surface, I almost guarantee you'd like both!
