Ryo Saeba and Kaori Makumura are private detectives who make up the City Hunter team -- problem solvers who can be hired by writing 'xyz' in a certain train station. Ryo's uncanny accuracy with a gun is surpassed only by his lecherous tendencies, while Kaori provides the sideline support -- usually in the form of a 50,000 kg mallet to keep Ryo's ecchiness under control!

Both City Hunter and Golgo 13 feature protagonists who are the best at what they do, expert marksmen and tacticians, who take on a job and always see it through to the end. Both protagonists also share a love of women though City Hunter is unable to control his lusts. Both series are episodic in nature though Golgo 13 is much more serious, but if you liked one try out the other.
Both of the stories aren't that same and the characters dont share much similarities. But Duke and Ryo do share the same skill in being a great marksmen. If you are looking for another anime with epic shoot skills Golgo 13 or City hunter are just right. If i was to compare Ryo to Duke in terms of skill i would say they are pretty much on the same level.
If you liked this, you'd definitely like this! Both feature main characters with sharp shooting skills beyond your imagination.

Badasses don't have to talk much, do they? They just have to kill things and be badass while doing it. Gungrave is basically a violent mob story with admittedly quite a bit more action and animation then Golgo 13, but if you like guys with guns in gritty environments killing stuff... Gungrave does that all and manages to be pretty fun, too. Check it out.
Both series are about men who don't need to talk much. Their actions speak very loud when they murder anyone they are hired to or people that simply get in their way. Golgo 13 is mainly episodic murder of the week stories where Gungrave has a clear plot through and through but you'll enjoy watching these manly men kick some serious butt.
If you liked Golgo 13 or Gungrave you'd like the other because both are violent action anime in which the main character is an assassin. Furthermore, both main characters are said to be the best hitmen around.
Taichi Keaton, a former British special forces operative, now works as an insurance investigator for the world-renowned insurance agency Lloyd's; but his true passion is history and archaeology, which he fulfills by teaching at universities and visiting various ruins. Make no mistake though, there is far more to Mr. Keaton's job than simply filing insurance forms and writing reports! His investigations take him around the world and into situations ranging from run-ins with the Russian mafia to solving murders and even foiling terrorist plots. There's never a dull moment, much to Keaton's dismay!

This is an unusual recommendation, but bear with me.
If you liked episodes of Golgo 13 where the protagonist gets embroiled in an issue of fine wine culture, excellent musicians, and the episodes grounded a little more on semi-plausible terrorist and gang related issues, it's possible you might like Master Keaton.
When it comes down to it Master Keaton employs a similar formula: An incredibly skilled and dexterous Japanese man arrives somewhere in the world, finds some sort of problem, and arrives at an ingenious solution. The problems Keaton faces tend to be a little more flexible then 'kill something' and the series lacks the stone cold machismo and hypermasculinity that is the epitome of Golgo 13 - although Master Keaton is a former SAS agent and a skilled survivalist, he has a friendly, self-affacing style that makes people understimate him, rather then Golgo 13's capacity to stand out like a sore thumb in any situation.
Nevertheless, if you enjoyed this series meandering episodic seinen components, it's possible you may like Master Keaton.
Granted Golgo 13 mostly bored me to tears and Master Keaton got me a little tired in places too, so take this recommendation with a handy grain of salt.
These 2 shows are worlds apart plot wise but both would appeal to the seinen fans. Keaton is slow paced and about a detective. Golgo 13 is simply about a man that is an assassin. They are both however are episodic and the lead characters are very strong willed that will do anything to get their jobs done. Just try one if you liked the other.
Rumor has it that, in a certain guild in the middle of nowhere, there is an extraordinary man who has climbed all the way to the Silver rank just by killing goblins. At the same guild, a priestess who's just become a new adventurer has formed her first party... and the man who ends up rescuing that party when they get into trouble is none other than the Goblin Slayer.
If you liked this you may also like this! Both these series feature Extremely skilled, smart and creative protagonists, they will do everything and anything within their means to eliminate their foes. Their methods and strategies will be the least you expect and their enemies will never see it coming.
Main character goes by an alias.
Main character has one job and he is an expert.
His sole focus makes him a legend and sought by many. He always collects his fee. He never turns down an opportunity to eliminate his target(s).
Beppu Yugo is one of the world's most successful and celebrated negotiators. His cases have ranged from big to small, from secretive to in the public eye. His work doesn't come cheap, but his skills are the top of the line, and through words, not violence, his failure rate is minimal. After a period of inactivity, Yugo is back on the job, to help negotiate the release of a hostage in Pakistan. With harsh terrain and deadly enemies before him, will he survive long enough to save the hostage, and return with his life?

While Yugo is more political and Golgo is more of a James Bond-style manly men anime, I still think this is a decent recommendation. Golgo 13 could be renamed as "stand around and do nothing and talk about guns," and Yugo has similar moments (albeit involving politics or other things, usually).
In the world of politics, public officials are abusing their power and using the citizens' hard earned money for their own whims - be it extortion, payoffs, or worse. To combat this problem, the Japanese government created their own version of the FBI: an independent agency with tremendous resources, the Government Crime Investigation Agency! Jotaro Zaizen, GCIA agent, is a manly man who uses a variety of manly means to take down the corrupt and the unjust. With his super-legal privilege Zainers Gold Black card and his trademark saying "da bomb," Jotaro will do whatever it takes to both get the job done and win the ladies.

While Zaizen Jotaro is remarkably more campy than Golgo 13, both have one important thing in common: they each star a manly man who does manly things. Women, power, aiding or assisting crime - these guys do or have it all.

Both of the main characters are assassins and have little to no personality while Li keeps a double identiy Golgo 13 does not.

But, time is running out.. for with each bullet they fire, Henrietta and the other girls lose a little more of their humanity.

Professional assasins! Both shows are not about Ninjas, but rather modern-day, gun-armed killers. There's a curious simularity between the principal characters, too: they do not feel the slightest remorse for what they do. This is because the Gunslinger Girls have been brainwashed, and because Golgo 13 has a completely inscrutable personality--we never learn his motivations. In both cases, killing people is just a job, nothing personal, you might say. Also, both shows delve into the dark underside of society--crime, corruption, etc. There are no "good guys" in these shows, which is an original and intriguing dramatic technique in itself.
Mireille Bouqet has become a reputable assassin working in France. However, all changes after she meets Kirika, a mysterious young girl who knows nothing about her past but possesses killing skills that dwarf hers. Further intrigue unfolds as both characters explore their shadowy past and come to a head with a clandestine organization that seeks to control destiny itself.

Kojima is a baseball legend. As the superstar cleanup hitter for the Lycaons, he won himself many awards including rookie of the year seven times; but there's one title he never acquired: champion. In an attempt to find that special something Kojima feels he's missing inside, he opens a training camp in Okinawa. There, through a series of events, Kojima is introduced to a high stakes game dominated by the talented Toua Tokuchi, and subsequently loses a fortune. However, Kojima finally defeats Toua and due to their agreement, he enlists him to join the now poorly-ranked Lycaons - but Toua demands a high price: instead of a salary, he will receive five million yen for each out, and lose fifty million yen for each point lost. With a bad attitude and prodigal skills, Toua will help transform the Lycaons into winners once more.

Calculated, not very emotional, professionnal, I think both of these anime have this in common. I really like One Outs (to my own surprise, as the first time I watched it I didnt think much of it, and baseball was not something I was ever interested in, but you should definitely give this anime a shot!)
Then, after I watched One outs for the third time I really wanted to find something similar. There are many anime where the MC is cold and calculated, but I guess what reminded me of One outs in Golgo 13 was that up to episode 20 (havent seen the rest yet, nor read manga) there is no back story to the character. Though I feel like Golgo 13 is a little "dry", probably even more so than Toua. And, unlike in One outs, all the episodes (so far) are separate...
Every time I think now Golgo will act nice towards that person and say something- he goes off and says nothing, just leaving after the shot is done. Which is a little annoying, but I really respect that the author has kept the MC in one way, that's some dedication.
But, in a sence I prefer One outs, especially the manga, as Toua has a cold but still HEART. But since it is rather rare to find something like One outs I felt I should recommend this one too. (BTW for me one outs would rank as 8.5 over all and Golgo 13 as 5-6, overall, just FYI)
