Clever and very funny.
I absolutely love Gintoki, the anime does such a good job at paroding other anime and games, at times the anime will feel like a fun and enjoyable filler series(which some people might go is there any point to this lol?)... but then Bam!, you'll be hit by a serious arc which will be incredible and moving.
Gintama is an amazing anime with this 2nd installment of the series being as great as it started with some amazing moments, Most of the time there's very little plot but when theres a story then it is intense, Gintokis has some good character development and we've had a lot of light shed on his backstory to understand why he's the way he is.
If you like funny anime with great action battles thrown in, some childish humour, a bit mature in places.. and great fun to watch, then you'd like this,
(even though the first 10 eps seem a little slow and then they take a u turn and decide to ditch flying cars and re write them out. LOL)
This anime is a unique one, since the story dosen't really have a goal until later on in the series apart from some of the arcs, it is intended to be comedic but can go serious at times, and it pretty much parodies almost everything in Japan, (even their own show.), so if you're not very familar with what is trending in japan or the history of Japan, you might get confused by the jokes.
Most of the info can be carried over from my review on the first 201 episodes found [Here]. There is no real transition or distinction between the 2 seasons for Gintama. It changes nothing in its formula except some modern updates which is exactly how it should be.
The major differences over the first 201 episodes are as follows:
-Widescreen aspect ratio change, finally!
-Improved art and sound quality
-Improved comedy. These episodes feel quite a bit more funny than the first 201 (Episode 237 & 238 are pure gold)
The only thing striking me as missing in these 51 episodes is Sadaharu </3
A flaw at fault from the subbers and not the show itself, the extra information and referencing seen at the top in yellow is no longer there which is unfortunate. It makes it more difficult to pick up parody or educational information when it specifically references to something.
Any extra information though, would be redundant. See link if needed for further details.
my first review :) well i soar the original before this one (and it's very long) compared to that this one is really great, im not the type to hype, but the animation in this anime were quite good and story and chars followed up pretty good with some small holes but anyway great anime and very funny :)
