Inside the hollow Mysterious Planet, there are seven kingdoms, each with its special talents. At the planet's heart, the Kingdom of the Sun illuminates the other kingdoms, but something is wrong -- the Sun's Blessing is failing. It falls to the twin princesses of the Sun Kingdom, Rain and Fine, to search for a way to reinvigorate the Sun. Along the way, they are aided by their magical companion Pumo and by the mystical powers of the Prominence. Are Rain and Fine capable of solving the problem, and of becoming proper princesses as they do so?
The sporty Nagisa and the bookish Honoka are ordinary middle school students, but when two strange creatures called Mepple and Mipple force them together to form the magical girl squad Pretty Cure, their differences soon give way to a developing friendship. But being a hero of the Light is not all roses! Will there be enough time for studying, playing lacrosse and cute boys in between their battles against minions of evil?
Pretty Cure and Fushigiboshi no Futagohime are really similar in many ways. Apart from the same genre, both have two main heroines who are trying to save the world with special powers and both have cute little creatures with the main characters, and as time goes on, the two plots resemble each other more and more.
