If you liked the Fushigi Yugi: The Mysterious Play anime, the Anime-Planet community thinks you'd like:
Momo is loud, shallow, a player, a betrayer, and one to best stay away from -- or at least, that's the misconception people have when they see her makeup, bleached hair and suntanned skin. In reality, Momo just wants the same friends, hobbies and crushes any girl her age would like. However, when her only friend starts spreading rumours about her, her boyfriend starts to doubt her, and the most popular boy in school starts to take a more then friendly interest in her, she'll have much more to worry about than just her appearance!
It seems funny how best friends can turn out to be just so detrimental to a relationship! Some friends are out for revenge or just out to get you for jealousy reasons. This seems to be the case in both Peach Girl and Fushigi Yugi. Unfortunately, the main characters do not know how to deal with these impeding forces at work; will they be able to overcome their problems and focus on the love they have for each other?
Once there lived an eccentric author called Drosselmeyer who wrote grand tragedies - one of them was the tale of a prince who sealed away an evil raven by breaking his own heart into tiny pieces. However, before the story could be completed, the author died and the tale took on a life of its own. Now, in a town where fiction and reality meet, the story continues on its tragic course with Ahiru, a duck who transforms into the beautiful Princess Tutu in order to restore the prince's heart. But will Ahiru's act of love be enough to defy the story's terrible destiny and lead to a happy ending?
Fushigi Yuugi and Princess Tutu may not be very very much alike, but they have their similarities.
Both animes are fantasy animes with a bit of (well, for Fushigi Yuugi it's a LOT) romance. Princess Tutu is about a girl who's trying to get the princes' heart back, and Fushigi Yuugi is about a girl trying to save the world. Like I said, they have not very much in common, but I'm sure that, if you liked Fushigi Yuugi, you'll like Princess Tutu. Especially if you like ballet.

In the revolutionary Meiji period, Japan is undergoing enormous political change. It is a time when vagabonds and terrorists will use any method to prevent the modernization of their country, even if it means trampling on the innocent in the process. In such a time, Himura Kenshin, a wandering samurai, has dedicated his life to protecting the weak and desperate peasants from those who would oppress them. However, Kenshin has a dark past which threatens to destroy the values he is fighting for. When he meets his new friends Kaoru, Sanosuke, and Yahiko, and tries to build a peaceful life with them, events conspire against him. Can Kenshin overcome the demons within and without, and finally ensure the peaceful future that Japan deserves?
rurouni kenshin and fushigi yuugi both have a somewhat similar plot seeing as they both take place in a not yet modernised setting and they both have some good looking guys beating the shit out of 'bad' guys. secondly they both brought about a very similar atmosphere their light heartedness mixed with a good story and a dab of romance (although i will admit fushigi yuugi does have a bit more than a 'dab")
