Both Full Metal Panic! and Innocent Venus center around the protection of one girl and feature mecha units that they use to fight. Both of the girls develop a "love" for their protectors. Although in Full Metal Panic it's a romantic type love, while in Innocent Venus it's more of a father-daughter type love. Innocent Venus is a little more serious than FMP!, but there are a few characters in Innocent Venus that provide some comic relief. If you liked one, then you should give the other a try.

If you liked watching either Love Hina or FMP you might also like the other. Both anime include strong female characters and clueless males who are always getting themselves into trouble.

Last Exile and Full Metal Panic have a similar feel to them in regards to the combination of action scenes and character drama. Full Metal Panic involves fighting in robotic machines, while Last Exile is centered around warfare in the skies, but both have well developed characters and interactions, not to mention friendship and relationship drama. If you like either series for its plot tension, it's safe to say you'd like the other.

While both series center around a submarine and its crew, FMP has the millitary fighting terrorists, while in Mars Daybreak, the "terrorists" are fighting the millitary! If warfare is your thing, be sure to check both of them out.

FLCL

FLCL

Naota Nanbada is a boring young boy who leads a boring life in a boring town. His older brother has left for America, and the closest he comes to any excitement is when his deadbeat dad has too much sake. But things change one day when a bizarre girl zooms up to him on a scooter and smacks him in the face with her guitar. What's more, once Naoto returns home he discovers that this strange woman has arrived ahead of him and moved in! Not only does she constantly engage in perverted activities with Naota's father and flirt with the young man himself, but she also claims to be an alien who is searching for the ‘Pirate King.' Now, Naota must learn to live with this new intruder, deal with an odd government agent who sports exceptionally large eyebrows and the mysterious Medical Mechanica, and come to terms with the fact that there are a variety of robots and weapons emerging out of his head - amongst other things. Perhaps boring wasn't so bad after all...

Although FMP and FLCL do not have a lot in common in terms of plot. Both series contain a lot of humour, action and mecha of course. It's not that they are similiar but they share the same kind of atmosphere, at leat in my opinion. Well, you never know until you try it. So go ahead, I'm positive that you will like it!
