Fifty years ago, Inuyasha and Kikyo discovered the legendary Horai Island – a place which only appears out of the mists every few decades. During that time, they found several half-demon children who were subject to the demonic rule of the Four War Gods, but had to leave before they could do anything about the situation. In “modern” feudal times, the island reappears and one of the children escapes, seeking out Inuyasha to rescue them all from the Four War Gods. Can Inuyasha liberate the children with the help of the Tetsusaiga, before the island once again disappears into the mists?
The positions of the main male characters involve having to go around and protect the heroine of the series in InuYasha and Full Metal Panic. Both hero’s’ seem to be reluctant to do so and the series are filled with hilarious undertones.
In the distant future many things have changed. Worlds are colonized and people travel the stars freely. The GOTT (Galactic Organization of Trades and Tarifs) exists to maintain order and peace along the galaxies. Enter two ES members. Eclair and Lumiere. They are sent on missions to keep the universal peace, under the flag of GOTT. But soon they come to realize that there is more going on behind the scenes than they previously imagined...
In the world of Prestal, Noble men perform noble deeds for noble purposes. All of this is performed under the careful gaze of the Guild, a race apart who live in cities in the sky. We see this world through the eyes of Claus Valca and Lavi Head, as their travels take us above, beyond and through Prestal, and their actions cause ripples that shall never fade.
Last Exile and Full Metal Panic have a similar feel to them in regards to the combination of action scenes and character drama. Full Metal Panic involves fighting in robotic machines, while Last Exile is centered around warfare in the skies, but both have well developed characters and interactions, not to mention friendship and relationship drama. If you like either series for its plot tension, it's safe to say you'd like the other.
