Synopsis:

In present-day Japan, a rising decline in the birth rate has prompted the government to intervene, thus forming the R.T.P. committee whose goal is to promote arranged marriages. Due to the sensitive nature of the issue, however, a test run was deemed mandatory, and young Ryo Mizuhara (chosen by the world's best supercomputer) was selected as the test subject, much to his own dismay. With the megalomaniac Shizuka Masuda appointed as his fiancee and secret agents in his face at every turn, can Ryo manage to save his sanity, let alone his bachelor lifestyle of the past?

Ranma 1/2

Ranma 1/2

Ranma, raised to be a man among men, has a bit of a problem: he is half woman! While training in China he fell into a strange magic spring at Jusenkyo. Now, he is eternally cursed to change into a beautiful woman whenever he is hit by cold water, but that may be the least of his problems; his father has betrothed him to marry! There's never a dull day for Ranma as he attempts to find a cure for his curse, train to become stronger, and grapple with the fact that half of himself may be more feminine than his fiancée!

The main characters in Final Approach and Ranma seem to be facing something that they did not want or need: marriage! In Final Approach the government is regulating a policy of arranged marriage to certain partners for productivity's sake. Similarly an arranged marriage gets placed on the shoulders of Ranma who has a secret of his own. Both series are very comical and revolve around the main characters' interactions with one another.

Rfsancho

Both are great shows with the two leads being thrust onto one another in a forced marriage. The only difference is that Final Approach has a willing lead, and Ranma 1/2 has them both unwilling. But they have similar comedic elements with not much of a story to follow, which makes for a fun and easy watch.

If you liked the stuck with one person till you realize how much you love them story then this is a very good one to pick up. Although a little different from Final Approach in that the female lead isnt as "clingy" to the male lead, the story is still very well done. Final Approach fans won't be dissapointed.

A promise made to each other when they were young about marriage ties the male and female lead together. The female lead, Aoi, loves the male lead, Kaoru, very much. Just the male lead only remembers her as a faint childhood memory. Very similar to Final Approach because they live with each other and inevitably fall in love.

The first thing I tink about when I tried to couple these two series is: chibi art. A lot of the humor is somewhat amplified by switching to chibi art from normal art. Not only does this give the humor an unique character, it also gives the series a sort of trademark. Naturally there are some other similarities too. The willing girl and the unwilling boy theme for example. There are some differences too though: in DearS, the female is rather clueless about how the world works, while the females in Final Approach do not. This also brings me to the fact that DearS is purely fiction, while Final Approach is somewhat closer to non-fiction,

Dragon Half

Dragon Half

Meet Mink, the hyper fire-haired teenage daughter of the world's greatest dragon slayer... and dragon! With the blood of both human and dragon flowing through her veins, Mink’s life is anything but ordinary -- especially since she’s in love with Dick, a musical dragon slayer! With enemies at every turn (including the half human/half slime princess Vena), Mink must try her hardest to win the affection of a man who wants nothing more than to see her dead. Can she win the guy without losing her life?

Note: this is a somewhat loosely recced series, as there are a lot of differences as opposed to few similarities. The main similarity is the chibi art. If you like the chibi art used in Final Approach, you might want to check Dragon Half out. Keep in mind though that Dragon Half is fantasy and might not appeal to you, it as well does not have the willing girl/unwilling boy theme. The humor, however, are in both series the main genre.
