Once, food was prepared solely for eating; now, when chefs prepare a meal, they prepare for battle! Using the power of cards known as Meal Tickets, cuisine of any variety can be turned to life. These "Fighting Foodons" are then used for various purposes, including companionship and battles. Chase, Kayla, their famous father Chef Jack and the legendary old chef Oslo are four Foodon-lovers who find themselves up against the evil King Gorge of Gorgetown. With their trusty Foodons and new friends such as Pie Tin at their sides, our heroes will cook and battle up a storm in hopes of bringing down King Gorge, his Glutton army, and his nefarious henchmen such as the feline chef Clawdia!
In a world where creatures known as Pokemon roam and would-be trainers capture and battle the beasts, the young Ash Ketchum can’t be happier; he has finally reached the age when he can have his very first Pokemon! Along with the electrical Pikachu and human buddies Brock and Misty, Ash must embark on a journey to battle countless others and become the best Pokemon Trainer of them all! From the Johto region to the Orange Islands, there’s plenty of Pokemon to catch and adventures to find, even if the infamous Team Rocket stands in the way!
Frankly, I'm not sure why you liked Fighting Foodons. Was it the horribly-animated and oft-recycled animation? The food battles? Or maybe the awesome dialogue?
Regardless, if you liked FF, check out Pokemon for sure. It's another "catch 'em all" sort of anime, but quite honestly, it's a hell of a lot better than this. The similarities abound and will be obvious upon viewing.
