Bolt Crank and Vash the Stampede are both similar characters. Mysterious, wanderers, skilled mercenaries, rescuers of those in need... they both have their own sense of style and their own set of morals. If you enjoyed Eat-man, you should definately check out Trigun.

Tuqui Tuqui says...

Characters that are not human wandering in the world, looking for a way to survive; both Bolt and Vash are strange creatures in chaotic worlds filled with monsters, cyborgs, and headhunters.

Both series are about mysterious men with a powerful right arm. Vash the Stampede and Bolt Crank are both great characters that follow their own sense of justice; even if it means people get the wrong idea about them.

The late 90's was a great time for anime, and these two shows from the era perfectly blend action, adventure and add a generous sprinkling of comedy. Probably more suited to a slightly older generation of anime fans, these two shows have some very amusing male protagonists with some very special fighting styles. If you like your anime to be a lot of fun, you should definitely try out both of these shows.

Though Lupin III focuses on thieves and Eat-Man a mercenary, both series are aimed at an older audience and have plenty of action. Both series are also episodic so they are easy to pick up as and when you want to watch them. if you liked one, it's worth checking out the other.

City Hunter

City Hunter

Ryo Saeba and Kaori Makumura are private detectives who make up the City Hunter team -- problem solvers who can be hired by writing 'xyz' in a certain train station. Ryo's uncanny accuracy with a gun is surpassed only by his lecherous tendencies, while Kaori provides the sideline support -- usually in the form of a 50,000 kg mallet to keep Ryo's ecchiness under control!

Despite the more supernatural nature of Eat Man, I can't help but think it is similar to City Hunter. While City Hunter's Ryo Saeba is more comedic overall, when it comes time to do the job he is just as professional as Eat Man's Crank Bolt. I just feel that the two of them have similar ideas and attitudes.

City Hunter is a much better series than Eat Man, however. If you enjoyed Eat Man or didn't like Eat Man but thought it had potential, try watching City Hunter.
