Spice and Wolf

Spice and Wolf

Since long ago, the wolf goddess Holo has honored a contract to bless the rural village of Pasloe with fertile harvests; and in return she has been celebrated and worshipped by the villagers. But as mankind advances, the people have begun to take command of nature for themselves and have made their own god to worship. Holo finds that she is paid little more than lip service, if not outright mocked; and considering the contract annulled, she takes human form and enlists the aid of a passing merchant, Kraft Lawrence, to return to her home in the snowy forests to the north. As they journey together, Kraft finds that he has plenty to learn from this capricious god, and she from him as well.

Both of these animes are Romances. Both of the animes revolves around spirits or Fairies. The Romance of the animes are more of spicey tang.

As in Spice and Wolf, Horo is the spirit and Lawrence is a helper. Horo needs to get to her homeland in the north thats a snow forest.

As in Earl and Fairy, Lydia the Fairy Doctor only sees the Fairies. Edgar is the man who follows her to get to the place he needs to get to, The sword that he needs.

For both of the animes, I'd Really say that this is a must for either of these animes.

Galadriel Galadriel says...

both Hakushaku to Yousei and Spice and Wolf are nice, heartwarming romance series, both shows involve a couple which consists of a normal human and a female protagonist that is non-human (in Hakushaku to Yousei the girl is a fairy doctor while in Spice and Wolf the girl is a ancient wolf god). Also both animes are kinda set in a similar background, a medieval setting (though the setting in Hakushaku to Yousei seems to be abit more modern). If you liked one of this shows then be sure to check the other one as well.

Jenesis Jenesis says...

I like to see older characters in anime - I get a little tired of the high school romances. These are both guilty pleasures of romance, characterization, and plot! Spice and Wolf fans will enjoy Ear and Fairy, and visa versa!

wolfangel87 wolfangel87 says...

If you’re looking for some slightly comedic drama with a whole lot of spirits thrown into the mix, Spice and Wolf and Earl and Fairy might be the two tales (no pun intended) for you. Both heroines have a extraordinary power that the male leads have to rely on throughout their journey together. The Medieval setting of the two is a key backdrop in the adventure the protagonists share.

RedCrossRobbery RedCrossRobbery says...

If you liked Earl and Fairy, you'll probably end up enjoying Spice and Wolf. Earl and Fairy has always felt like the immature baby sister to Spice and Wolf, and I'm sure anyone who enjoys Earl and Fairy would come to absolutely love Spice and Wolf.

Vampire Knight

Vampire Knight

Cross Academy is a school with a difference: in a unique and experimental setup designed by the headmaster, it has a Day Class consisting of ordinary humans and a Night Class filled with vampires. Yuki Cross and her friend Zero Kiryu are school prefects whose job it is to make sure the secret of the Night Class is always safe; they patrol the school grounds at night and supervise the switchover of classes at dawn and dusk to prevent any 'accidents' from happening. While Zero is suspicious of vampires and hates the idea of sharing the same space as them, Yuki admires the Night Class for their beauty and sophistication; she is especially intrigued by their charming leader, Kaname, because he once saved her life. However, as Yuki quickly learns, not all vampires are amiable like the Night Class, and as terrible events unfold, Yuki must ask herself whether in a world where vampires are the hunters and humans are the prey, peaceful coexistence can really be achieved.

VivisQueen VivisQueen says...

A lot like Earl and Fairy, Vampire Knight takes a recognisable legend and then puts it in a melodramatic shoujo format with lots of bishounen, pretty animation, and romance, romance, romance! The bonus of Vampire Knight is that it has a much better mystery, a much more anguished love triangle (you'll find it hard to choose between Zero and Kaname!), and there's a lot of nibbling on necks. If you really like Earl and Fairy, then Vampire Knight will be right up your alley.

Stazia Stazia says...

To me the animation styles are very similar.  They both deal with noblity and a somewhat reluctanct romance. Both have supernatural themes as well.

KiraRin KiraRin says...

If you have a penchant for beautiful bishounen and hapless female leads, then both Earl and Fairy and Vampire Knight will be for you. The two storylines are based in the supernatural, however the main focus is on the romance between the male and female leads.

If you dream about being swept off your feet by a handsome rogue, I highly recommend both of these shows to you.

Galadriel Galadriel says...

both shows feature a dark, gloomy atmosphere and deal with a supernatural theme as well however both shows mostly focus on a romance aspect which makes them both quite alike. The female leads, Lydia and Yuuki are pretty much alike too, both of them have similar characteristics and similar personalities, being wanted by the men around them. Both shows also feature a similar animation style and are action packed so if you liked one be sure to check the other one as well.

wolfangel87 wolfangel87 says...

For some reason the first thing that struck me between Vampire Knight and the series Earl and Fairy is the hierarchy structure set for the for the characters and the aristocracy that it revolves around making some of the characters arrogant to the extreme. The supernatural ties of the series brings out the historical feeling in the characters and similar animation styles.

They both have great female characters that have secrets. I like both of these because the story has more than it seems it does.

Earl and Fairy is a great rec for fans of Maid-sama and vice versa. The two main characters have a very similar way of interacting with each other. If that aspect of either show entertained you, the other is worth checking out.

Doremi Doremi says...

Even though the plot is totally different, if you have seen either of these animes you will love the other.

The reason for this is the relationship between the male and female MC. Edgar and Usui are both strong, sarcastic and teasing guys. They act like all they do is teasing, but behind lies true feelings. Both has sad backstories, and they look very alike besides eyecolor.

Misaki and Lydia on the other hand aren't so alike. They both are dense, and strongwilled, but Lydia isn't as psysically strong as Misaki.

They also have a hard time accepting the actions of the male MC. Being dense, and in denial the romance is a bit on hold, but both the romantic and comedic moments are lovely.

Comparing those two, it is much more comedy in Maid-sama, and more drama in Earl and Fairy. I promise if you liked one of them you will totally fall in love with the other. Or if you haven't watched any of those, it's totally worth taking your time to watch both. Espescially if you love the shoujo genre.

clutzattack clutzattack says...

Both these animes have an easily flustered heroine who is stalked by a handsome lead male character who are outwardly affluent and a poor sense of "personal space".Both are fun and adventerous even though they're set in completely different time periods and countries.

Very innocent, clean, simple romances.

Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran High is a school for the extremely wealthy or, in Haruhi's case, the extremely talented. But no amount of talent will help when Haruhi accidentally drops an eight million yen vase in a music room. The vase was the property of Ouran High School Host Club, a group of attractive young men who, for a fee, provide their time and affections for their lovesick clientele: the female students. Fascinated by this strange new specimen, a poor and clumsy commoner, they force Haruhi to work for them until the debt is repaid; but they get a lot more than they bargained for...

Both anime are shojo romance with a reverse harem, a Victorian setting and a narcissistic blond romantic interest. Hakushaku to Yōsei is not quite as comedic as Ouran though- more drama.

KiraRin KiraRin says...

Girls - if you like the idea of a group of handsome bishounen sweeping you off your feet, you will be more than spoilt for choice with Ouran and Earl + Fairy. With romantic moments that will have you melting, the denial of the female protagonist only encouraging the beautiful boys even further.

If you like the reverse harem and very sexy guys, I highly recommend both of these to you.

Galadriel Galadriel says...

both Hakushaku to Yousei and Ouran High are reverse harem shows (shoujo romance), both of them are set in a modern, Victorian setting. Also both of them are pretty nice, heartwarming romances, though Ouran High has a way more developed comedy aspect than Hakushaku to Yousei. So if you liked one of this shows be sure to check the other one as well.

wolfangel87 wolfangel87 says...

With shoujo romance and a little reverse harem Earl and Fairy and Ouran High School Host Club fit hand in hand. The Victorian type setting plays a key role in unveiling the back drop of the characters budding romance, while the heroines of these delightful tales try to give a new type of relationship a try.

Hatenkou Yuugi and Early & Fairy are two shows that remind you of the other despite a couple big differences. Earl & Fairy is a more lighthearted show where Hatenkou Yuugi has several darker story arcs. Though both implement the use of magic and supernatural creatures in their adventures, the nature of either is different in each show. That being said, I would recommend one if you enjoyed the other.

These two shows are very similar in feeling with magic and special creatures roaming about. Earl & Fairy is more lighthearted and adds some comedy in there where Hatenkou Yuugi takes a more serious tone. If you liked one you should check out the other.

Both of these animes are Romances. Both also revolves around magic or Fairies. The Romance of the animes are related to memories.

As in Happiness!, Yuma is a male character who plays a role that pretwnds to have no magical power. He is infact the strongest person there. He doesn't use his magic because of his memories against his mother. Haruhi is a girl from his past, And she remembers Yuma from the past as a super powerful mage with power that was very warm and good hearted. That was the last time he ever used his power as he made all the gravity go wack. I just recentally finished this anime, And i really loved the art work in the anime.

As in Earl and Fairy, Lydia has a past memory too. The memory makes it hard for her to fall in love. Edgar is a prince who says to Lydia that he loves her very much. Both Lydia and Edgar makes plans to kill each other thoughout the episodes. Every time either of them plans to kill the other they dont; but instead the events does a 180 and the other does attempt of suiside >_> By Pills, Legendary swords, etc etc

I really liked watching both of these animes, I know you will too.

Galadriel Galadriel says...

if you're looking for sweet romance shows, which involves fairies and other magic aspects then look no further, Hakushaku to Yousei and Happiness! are the perfect choices. So if you like one of this shows be sure to check the other one as well.

Now both animes are lated to Romance and are both Shojo Animes. They are both simular and different, mostly disserent. But they both are really good animes.

As in Aishiteruze Baby, Kipyiii needs to watch Zuyuzu. Zuyuzu is a little girl who was left by her mother. Kipyii learns about other kindergardener's parents and how they are related to his situation.  He also helps other adults with there situation by just explaining his. Zuyuzu is also very cute.

As in Earl and Fairy, Lydia needs to overcome her situation. On her way she helps Fairies on her way because she is the Fairy Doctor. Edgar looks alot better than Lydia in looks, but yeah >_> going to stay away from that topic.

Both animes are very pretty with colors and I really like the artwork. Aishiteruze baby has better artwork, but they are both still really nice.

The relationship developments in Aishiteruze Baby and Earl and Fairy are what make the two series stick together. Not to mention the fact that they are both shoujo romances, the daily lives of the main characters are tested and friendships are strained.

I think that both of the heroine are very similar. They are at most the only one who can see the fairy. And both are shoujo with similiar art works. I think if you like Earl and Fairy you'll love the love triangle that La Corda D'Oro has.

Fairy? Check! Multiple bishounen? Check! Both La Corda D'Oro and Earl and Fairy appear at first glance to be simple children's tales, but they prove to be much more than that. La Corda D'Oro has much less of the fantasy adventure element to it than Earl and Fairy, but the general feel is the same. Both anime have the all important charming gentlemen and fairy enchantments. If you like one, you're bound to like the other - I sure did.
