Diabolik Lovers

Diabolik Lovers Episode 6 - Untitled

Yui refuses to accept that she should suddenly stop showing compassion towards her fellow man merely because they are vampires, and allows herself to be led to one of Kanato's most favorite places in his little world. As she views his family's collection of wax figures all in bridal wear, she finds herself eerily aware that things are not as benign as they appear. Kanato confirms her suspicions and gleefully sets to adding her to their collection, until he is interrupted by a summons.

Both anime are misogynistic to a varying degree  -BroCon is milder in this aspect while Diabolik Lovers is blatantly misogynistic- about a young woman being forced to co-habitate with a gang of different guys all vying for her attention. Both are nominally romances of the reverse harem variety, if you count guys sexually assaulting a female as romance. Diabolik Lovers has the supernatural theme going while Brothers Conflict has a more realistic feel (if you get past the talking squirrel...), and the guys in Diabolik Lovers are more repulsive than the cast in BroCon0. Those are the biggest differences, really.

Fans of either show would do well to watch the other one, and if you hated one with all your heart and want some more brainrot to enrage you, why, it's just more of the same.

Reverse harems are the order of the day here. One is your classic reverse harem where all the guys inexplicably fall in love with the main girl a few seconds after meeting her, the other has the guys sexually and verbally abusing the leading lady at any and every given opportunity. Both are pretty misogynistic, with BroCon being milder than the vile Diabolik Lovers.

Each show is literally teeming with pathetic, abusive, arrogant, creepy and downright irritating sexual predators whos morals seem to be almost completely absent. Almost absent in the case of BroCon, but totally absent in the case of Diabolik Lovers, where sexual and verbal abuse is thrown around like confetti.

Plot wise, they share a few striking similarities. The main girl in each show is sent to live in a huge house with a bunch of strange boys she's never met. Each boy then falls in love with her in some shape or form. Classic shoujo reverse harem stuff really. Except that Diabolik Lovers has the supernatural aspect with it's vampires, and more sadistic with the rampant abuse it loves to focus on. BroCon, on the other hand, is more grounded in reality.

So if you like your reverse harems, and douchebag males then you'll likely find both entertaining. Likewise if you’re a fan of one you’ll probably enjoy the other. And if you’re the type who enjoys raging over terrible anime, then you’ll have a lot of fun here.

Yes right now this is another show that is similar. Both have one main character that is female. The men have "dere" personalities in both shows and both are equally provocative. Both anime are based off Otome games.

Both have vampires. Both are reverse H. One girl and many potential guys at first. Both series have agressive vampires. VK and DL have a certain mystery to the plots as well.

Becasue they both involve vampres who are both after the same girl and they will do anything to try and get her. Also becasue the plot of both animes are quite similar to each other.

Bradalee Bradalee says

Each anime is a reverse harem where the males are all vampires, and who chase after a human female. Both contain pretty aggressive males and have a hint of mystery about their plots.

When the heroine regains consciousness in an unfamiliar place, she has suddenly lost all memories of everything that happened before August 1. What is this place, and what was she doing there? Who is she, and what sort of life had she lived?

Both anime have been adapted from otome visual novels, and subsequently aimed at women.  Each show has fairly similar character designs, with that classic "sexy bishounen" look being common place. Reverse-harem traits are in both too. The main girl of each series also have their similarities.

Both series are absolutely terrible as well, which is their biggest similarity if you ask me...

ZetsubouKaiji ZetsubouKaiji says

Both series feature bishounen Final Fatasy rejects attempting to woo, a bland female protagonist. The guys each take their turn with the doormat protagonist insisting that she belongs to them. The guys are controlling when they're not being outright abusive.

In Amnesia there's bits of an interesing plot between the girl dating her bishounen suitors, whereas in Lovers she's actually locked in with her rapey harem with no hope of escape. But both series are aimed at the same kind audience so if you saw one and want more like it then watch the other.

If you ever feel like watchign a Otome adaptation where a bunch of guys compete for a girl's hear in sometimes abusive way, then look no further, these two represent each other almost perfectly. Charachter design and general feel are quite similar as well, so I gues that you'll probably like one if you liked another...
