Whisper of the Heart is a touching Ghibli slice-of-life story, about a young girl named Shizuku. While riding the train, she notices a fat cat riding alongside her. Following the cat, she finds a shop where she is told an enchanting story of a gold statue named "The Baron". WotH follows Shizuku in her struggles to grow, and her budding love with the shopkeeper's son.
Both Whisper of the Heart and Di Gi Charat are quiet slice-of-life romances that start from a single chance encounter. If you enjoy a quiet slow paced romance anime that shows the development of a relationship then you may enjoy both of these.

Both these shows take place in a certain season; summer for Air and winter for Di Gi Charat: Winter Garden. Just like the different seasons, there is a different type of romance in both of them.
The stories are pretty different, while Di Gi Charat focuses more on the slice-of-life elements and Air focuses on the mysterious elements.
But even though they are pretty different, they both have the same feel to it. They each have beautiful art, animation, and colors. If you've loved one of these 2, then the other one is definately a must-watch.

Winter Garden and Rec are a lot like each other! They have a very similar pace of story and even though Rec might be a bit more serious about handling relationships at the start of the series, the romance definitely feels very alike when comparing the two series. It's nearly impossible to like one and dislike the other because of their similarities, yet the stories are nothing like each other!
