Both Detective Conan and Detective Academy Q are about young characters solving murder case. They also both allow the viewer to try to solve the cases by himself.

pupsia

well becouse there both about detective stories, about solving misteries, and both have comic characters who make the searies even more fun!

animeotaku88

In each episode, or every two to three, the detective has to solve thrilling mysteries that involve murders and leave you in suspense.

szetungtung

Both contains teenagers solving mysteries and is more or less the same, with the main characters who love mysteries and detectives so much!!

HopeGrace

They're both animes involving mysteries and crime cases.  While DC's cases may be more elaborate and harder to solve, perceptive audience can pick up on clues and solve the cases together with our lovable detectives.  So if you're looking for animes with mysteries you can solve yourself before the truths are revealed, watch them.

Oh, and they both have similar catchphrases 'There is only one truth!' and 'There could only be one answer!'   XD

Kiraxa

Both mystery based anime that keeps you guessing or if you think you have it yourself you can solve it. Detective conan is slightly further out there with the cases but You can still shoot at a solution.

Both Detective Academy Q and Spiral involve a young boy who solves things with his wits. Every obstacle that is presented to the main characters is solved, usually through some abnormal reasoning that is somewhat explained by the main characters being geniuses. Both of them also have a single main antagonistic force who is intent on destroying them, often by using extremely abstract means.

chavo18

Both series are detective stories, which present different cases that are interesting enough to make you formulate your own deductions in order to solve the cases at hand. Although the mood of the characters in Spiral is much more serious than Detective Academy Q. If you liked one, you'd definitely like the other.

Angevon

Both are mystery-based, with characters' pasts and secrets slowly and interestingly revealed. Spiral is more based on life-or-death situations that the main character must get out of, while Q has more mysteries involving solving strange murders. In both cases, I can almost guarantee that you'll not figure out the solution before they do~

KiraRin

Mystery and detective dramas have long been a genre I've not really made an effort to watch, but there are some that I have really enjoyed. Spiral and DAQ are 2 of those.

Both feature a super smart male protagonist and a cute and bubbly female sidekick. The constant guessing and playing along with the detective work is good fun, and the underlying stories are also interesting and make both shows a good watch.

If you enjoy one, you're sure to like the other.

Ayatsuri Sakon

Detective Academy Q and Ayatsuri Sakon follow characters using their deductive talent to catch murderers. Both anime show well-thought case over several episodes to find who is the killer.

neutrino

The protagonist in both of these series has an uncanny ability to run into murder mysteries.  Furthermore, they both are enigmatic about figuring out the "trick" to the solution, while their companions stand around dumbfounded.  If you have fun watching these kinds of series (as I do), I recommend both.

AkumaSama

Both of these animes are based on solving mysteries. The main character solves crimes and with the help of their friends they solve the case. So if you like to watch animes that solve cases and mysteries you'd probably like both of these animes.

Hunter x Hunter

Hunter x Hunter

Drawn to the mystique of the unknown, Hunters travel the world in search of terrifying creatures, incredible riches, and unexplored lands. Gon Freecss is a naive-yet-determined young boy who aspires to join the ranks of these individuals, in order to find his missing father Ging - a master of the profession himself. To reach his goal, he partakes in the formidable Hunter Exam, a series of tests that push the participants to their physical and mental limits, with a Hunter License as the prize. During the exam Gon befriends vengeful Kurapika, doctor-to-be Leorio, and skilled assassin Killua, who have entered for their own reasons. But with the sinister Hisoka standing in their way, will Gon and his friends be able to succeed in obtaining their reward, or even escaping with their lives?

In many ways, HunterXHunter and Detective Academy Q share the same core elements: a boy, raised by his mother alone, discovers the existence of a special place of learning where his unique skills can be honed to perfection, and sets out to enroll at that school, against his mother's will. Along the way, he meets other like-minded individuals with a wide range of special skills -- and together, the motley band undergoes numerous adventures, facing them with ingenuity and bravery. The animation styles are even fairly similar.

seasong

The main characters of both these animes are very similar. Not only are Gon and Kyu very similar in their pure love of life, Killua and Ryu have many parallels drawn between them in character and circumstances. If you liked the characters of one, you will enjoy the other anime as well.

Himitsu

If you have enjoyed watching Detective Academy Q then you will inevitably like Hunter X Hunter. This is true for the other way around as well. The overall execution and mood of both series feel very similar. Both titles feature an adventuresome and curious main character of a young age. The main cast  reveal students and younger adults who each have their own unique or special abilities. What's more is that the two series focus on issues on hand. Soon the characters discover that there is a huge underlying criminal group - the real threat to their world. Hunter X Hunter is heavy on action and adventure, while Detective Academy Q can be just as engaging with its mystery and detective deductions!

Agatha Christie's Great Detectives Poirot and Marple

Agatha Christie's Great Detectives Poirot and Marple

Maybelle West is a young relative of the famous Miss Marple, and an aspiring detective in her own right. Although the privilege of getting to witness Miss Marple's work from up close ought to be enough to train anyone in the craft, Maybelle also secures herself a place under the tutelage of another detective genius, Hercule Poirot. Thus, she ends up traveling between the village of St. Mary Mead and London, observing the two great minds at work as they use their amazing powers of deduction to solve crimes that leave the regular police baffled.

Deadlystrike6

Excellent series which stimulate the viewer's intelligence and challenge creativity without focusing on the gory elements of crime. Plot turns and twists everywhere. These are masterful works of ingenious detective fiction. Agatha Christie is known as the Queen of Detective fiction, and the writers of Detective Academy Q are hot on her tracks.

Himitsu

It is only natural that you would enjoy Detective Academy Q if you liked Agatha Christie Poirot and Marple. The same applies for vice versa. Both series cover engaging and intelligent detective work. Common events that occur involve murder and deductive skills. It is an episodic series that deals with the same cast of characters, but the cases they address involve different people each time. Both anime definitely give the same mood of "mystery". Detective Academy Q has a more colourful cast with embeded humour, while Agatha Christie Poirot and Marple takes a more conservative role.
