Even though they both have slow beginnings they pretty much have non-stop action with decent dialog.  Nobody seems to be who they say they are.  Great amounts of blood and tragic stories.  Must see.

Jdogtoocool

Both Deadman Wonderland and Blood C and are fast paced, mysterious, bloody anime. There's times when the action does come out of nowhere somewhat randomly, and then there's times when the plot drags a little in a good way imo. There's surprises in store for you in both anime. If you liked one I'm sure you'll love the other.

Ergo Proxy

Ergo Proxy

In a futuristic world almost barren of life, mankind is confined to mechanized domed cities where A.I.’s control all aspects of life. In this world, humans are no longer born, they are manufactured in a production line; and alongside them live androids known as autoreivs. Within one of these domed sanctuaries named Romdeau lives Re-l Mayer, one of a few citizens who aren’t entirely prevented from thinking. Her grandfather's prominent position and the affection of the scientist Daedalus have left her more free will than is normally allowed, but Re-l has started to question the sanctity of the city and the citizens' perfect way of life. With mysterious beings known as proxies causing havoc and a man named Vincent causing great influence on her life, Re-l must travel outside of the city to find the answers she seeks and discover the mystery behind "the awakening".

Deadman Wonderland feels like a cross between Ergo Proxy and King of Bandit Jing. They all are serious actions show with a little bit mystery.  They all exist in worlds that are a little twisted, so if you like that then these shows are for you.

cerberus38

Both of these animes feature characters with strange powers who have been experimented on in order to be made into weapons, a childlike girl and one of the main characters may or may not also be the baddie without realising it. All this is set against the political battles of those higher in the hierarchy. Though Deadman Wonderland is not as serious as Ergo Proxy, they both explore similar themes.

Eureka Seven

Eureka Seven

Like most boys his age, the young Renton thinks of nothing but reffing – riding trapar waves on a board – and idolizes Holland, the leader of the renegade group of reffers named Gekko State. As an orphan of a famous hero, he lives a boring life with his grandfather until the beautiful Eureka crashes, literally, into his life. Now, with the help of his newfound friend and crush, Renton finds himself living amongst the crew of Gekko State. The errands are hard and the bullying is fierce, but with Eureka by his side, Renton just might find the courage to tough it out and even save the world!

The main character is very similar. I only recommened these two, because of the similarities of the main characters, both physical and personality wise.

redtesla

They have the "awkward boy hero" and "mysterious young girl" interaction in common, yes, and that's cool.  However, the reason I started watching Deadman Wonderland was due to the similarity of the art.  If you thought Eureka Seven was crazy pretty to look at, then you'll probably enjoy watching Deadman Wonderland, and vis versa.  Deadman Wonderland is a bit more gruesome though, and you don't get teary "that's soo cute" moments every episode like in Eureka Seven.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

Maebara Keiichi, an ordinary high-school boy, has transferred to a new school in Hinamizawa, a small rural village. At the outset everything seems peaceful and Keiichi becomes friends with a nice group of schoolgirls with whom he spends many idle summer afternoons. Suddenly violence encroaches upon the blissful peace of the village and Keiichi becomes entangled in an endless cycle of fear and death. The inconsistent, but inevitable horrors of Hinamizawa are told and retold becoming an endless and inescapable nightmare of insanity. Will it end even if the mystery of Hinamizawa is solved?

LostPocky

Both animes, give a sense of mystery, as the story slowly unfolds by itself, usually leading to a big twist. Also if your really into loads blood, then this anime is for you!

Psyche

If you love blood and a good story, you're going to love them. In both anime the characters are trapped in a world they want to break free from. While trying to break free, they will walk down a path filled with gore and madness. If you liked one, you'll probably like the other one as well.

Now and Then, Here and There

Now and Then, Here and There

Shu's companion is a mysterious girl named La La Ru, who may hold the key to survival. Now, he must concentrate on the only things that matter: escaping Hellywood, and finding a way home.

Both are shows that show the limits of how distrubing a series' world can be. While Now and Then has more social commentary, and Deadman has more gore, they both have really dark worlds, and will keep you watching to see how much more hellish the show gets.

roXen

If you liked one, you'll definitely like the other. Both shows have VERY similar protagonists and display an insanely cruel world. There are many characters within both animes that have surprisingly similar characterisitcs. The torture methods and punishments are far more brutal in Deadman Wonderland while Now and Then, Here and There displays a stronger connection with the characters and makes tragedy far more emotional.
