Both titles feature a lone wolf style main character who ends up in a team, who are looking for answers regarding their past. The second season of DTB and GXS are almost identical in plot, but different enough in style that you can appreciate both.

Both shows involve people with super powers who work for the mob and fight other ability users. In Darker than Black, the powers vary, whereas in Pet, they're mostly mind-reading and mental manipulation. Both shows also have people with stunted emotions due to their abilities who serve as mediums for other people to use their powers.

I highly recommend as both have the hero vs villain dynamic. Darker Than Black does cover more serious topics and isn't as comedic but it's worth the watch for those who love characters with powers. It also covers the different social norms people with powers have, ie: both have an episode dedicated to how children get powers and how they handle that situation.

Ajin: Demi-Human

Only 46 are known to exist in the world, and most try to hide their existence, for capture means being subjected to brutal experiments that never end. Kei Nagai is a boy who dreams of becoming a doctor to heal his sister one day, but after he dies - and revives - in a car accident, he learns the terrifying truth that he too is an Ajin. Now, Kei finds himself on the run from both human and Ajin monsters that wish to do him harm, while struggling with his new, unwanted identity.

Similarities:  - Subset of people with special abilities, trying to live amonst unpowered humans - Stigma against powered people

 - Government is involved in experiments involving powers

 - Dark and grim story, nothing is sugarcoated, not a lot of comic relief, jokes, or oversexualization of characters.

They both have a pretty much dark theme. The difference is that Darker than black is supernatural while 91 days isn't.

in both, a catastrophic explosion caused the appearance of an impenetrable area with mysterious properties, and a massive chunk of land was lost for the humanity forever. on that day, humans discovered a subspecies of humans different from themselves, which sparked a long lasting conflict. both main characters are used against their own kin by a militarized organization, becoming strangers to both sides as a result.
