When poor detective Kuro Daijuuji accepted his first well-paying job, he had no idea what he was getting himself into! The request: to find a magical grimoire for Ruri Hado of the Hado Financial Group. After searching all of the bookstores and antique shops in Arkham City and finding nothing, Kuro is just about to give up when a grimoire happens to fall out of the sky and land on top of him... in the form of a young girl! Her name is Al Azif; and she is being chased by the Black Lodge, a group of evil mages. The two find themselves surrounded, and in order to survive Kuro is forced to enter a contract with Al and become the pilot of the Deus Machina Demonbane.
Both are about mythological acient books and its "keeper". Also, both of them have a peculiar gothic lolita as protagonist (who seems to have more to say than she really says) with a young boy human beside who contract her without knowing it all.
Anyway, Demonbane is a bit more comedic and with more fanservices hints, while Dantalian is more serious and literallic episodic.
If you enjoyed the powers of Demonbane, for sure you will take a like on Dantalian no Shoka. And if you liked the relationship between the stars, you will like Demonbae too.

Both Dantalian no Shoka and Another showcase a creepy supernatural plotline with a mysterious little girl as a main character. They also have aspects of a mystery-type show, though Another focuses on mystery much more than Dantalian no Shoka, whose episodic episodes are more about the supernatural. Dantalian no Shoka's characters and overall mood is much livelier and more quirky, adding to the uniqueness of each episode, while Another's is more subdued, adding to its suspense and creepiness.

The plot of somewhat adventure(meeting with diferent people) with peculiar setting is similar. The tone of the story which is serious overall are also similar. The calm and composed main characters together with some weird people the main characters met are also somewhat similar. Lastly the creepy/mysterious feeling at the end of each episode is quite similar

Both anime aren't very much alike, but they do have a similar theme when it comes to certain characters.
As I was watching Chaika:Coffin Princess, I noticed something that reminded me of Dantalian No Shoka. Basically, both anime have a very similar theme. Both main girl characters wear mostly one color of clothes, and as the story progresses, you find out there are other girls with other color combinations that are equally as important and either have a similar mission or similar power. Both anime have a girl in complete Red, Black and White; and two out of three of the girls are both good guys, while the others are not so good. Also, each girl has at least one guardian that helps protect or fight with her.
