Ghost in the Shell

Ghost in the Shell
  • Movie (1 ep x 83 min)
  • 1995

A mysterious new hacker known only as the Puppet Master threatens to create chaos, erasing and rewriting the memories of his victims: humans who have cast away their physical body to become cyborgs. Is he an evil genius, or could he signal the beginning of a new age in the relationship between man and machine?

The conflict of human-like robots getting around in society is underlined in both series (I am referring to the movie rather since I have only seen a few episodes of the GITS series). Both Chii and Kusanagi seem to have a soul and try to find their true inner self and the meaning of their existence. Also they both develop feelings for other humans.
Sacrifice
Although a more serious anime, thise also addresses the issues of androids and human emotions.
GreenyOSX

The main underlying theme of Chobits is the relationship between man and machine. The movie Ghost In The Shell also concentrates on this, and that might make it a good anime to see if you are interested in this. Note though that Chobits is a comedy, and Ghost In The Shell is much more serious.

These series both have android/computer controlled robots all around the world. If you find that aspect, or some of the moral reprocussions which that would cause being disected, then these series go well together. GitS is a lot more action based, however.

Girls Bravo

Girls Bravo

Yukinari is blessed with an clinical fear of women, commonly known as gynophobia. In addition to his mental ailment, he has the misfortune of being short and weak, making it easy for women to overwhelm him further. Even when his childhood friend, Kirie, approaches him, he immediately breaks out in hives. Thus, life is very lonely for Yukinari, until suddenly in the strangest way possible, he is transported into another world, and into the arms of the beautiful shoujo, Miharu! This time, for the first time ever, he doesn't react. Could this be the start of something special?

Even though the logical sense in the main female in Girls Bravo is a lot more advanced than chi in Chobits, being unable to comprehend the right and wrongs in the society she ends in is fairly apparent in both series. Both series are ecchi too, while Girls Bravo is more radically ecchi, chobits is somewhat more subtile. One last thing I want to tell about these series is that the Chobits clearly is a one guy - one girl anime, while Girls Bravo clearly is a harem anime.
Ran

Girls Bravo and Chobits feature main characters with close characters and behaviors, which means the action that takes place is of a similar kind too. Although the stories are diferent, quite some scenes in one reminds of the other still, and the basic idea is the same : a boy getting his hands on a babe that becomes as much trouble as benefit.

Salvio

Both story have to do with love and the fact that you should love someone and show your love to them if you realy mean it.

TheOmnipotentLemur

Chobits  and Girls Bravo's are alike in some major ways, but differat enough that you wont feel like you are watching the same series. The girls are practically clones, but Chobits has -way- less fanservice.

Green Green

Green Green

Deep in the mountains, isolated from civilization, there is a boys-only school that will finally be receiving its first class of girls in an attempt to transform the school into a co-ed one. Most of the boys have never been in contact with girls of their own age, leading to an explosion of hormonal craziness. From the sickeningly perverted fetishist guys, to a rather odd girl that seems to be chasing the most normal guy in the school for reasons known only to her, there's twisted humor to be had.

Both Chobits and Green Green share the same element of an "innocent" girl who is completely devoted to a clueless guy. The plot and characters and very different but the relationship between the main characters is very similar. If you liked one pair, the other might tickle your fancy as well.

Tetsugakusha

In both Green Green and Chobits we get a nice mix of perverted-guy behaviour with the sensitive, caring side that all guys have but never really show. Not to mention the hilarious situations the perverted nature gets the guys into.

wolfangel87

In both Chobits and Green Green there is an overwhelming air of an innocent girl being completely devoted to the main guy. In both of these cases the guy reacts in various strange ways because he does not know how to deal with the situation in which he finds himself. There is comedy in both, although Green Green focuses mainly on the comedic aspects.

chuckylover911

both animes are echii, romantic, comedic, and cute. Although i find green green to be a little disturbing and more for a mature audience.

Karin

Karin

Karin is a vampire, but as fate would have it she is a freak among her own kind; for Karin doesn’t drink the blood of her counterparts – she is cursed to be a blood maker, forcing her to inject her extra blood into her victims. What’s worse is that if she doesn’t find an outlet for the blood in time, it explodes in a massive nose bleed of impressive volume. In Karin's twisted day-going state, she finds it nearly impossible to find safe victims; so, nose bleeds are a major problem. When transfer student and new classmate Usui Kenta proves to have exactly the kind of emotions her vampire nature most enjoys, she finds herself in comedic dire straights!

Both shows are about falling in love and over coming differences. Esch main person has their problem which at first stops them for getting the person they love and then show us them over coming this problem.

Aburi

At first glance these two shows have little to relate them to each other aside from both being romantic comedies.

Chii is extreamly passive, Karin is extreamly active. Kenta is depressed, hardworking, and kinda scary where Hideki a bit flakey.

But they both pull you into the story. They are both very touching, and they both have a moment that pulls you to the edge of your seat and make you want to shout "Kick his @## Chii/Karin"

chuckylover911

Both animes are romantic comedys. and the main charectors find themselves in a forbidden relationship. i find both of these series to be extremely echii

Pita Ten

Pita Ten

Tragedy struck Kotaro Higuchi as a child in the form of his mother's death in a car accident. But fate has a funny way of doing things, and years after the fact an angel-in-training named Misha decides to pay him a visit. Joined by his fellow elementary school students, and later by the nicest demon you'll ever meet, Kotaro and Misha will embark on a journey of laughs and love.

Pita Ten and Chobits both have the same sort of story line (apart from the finding and wanting part): they both involve a girl and a boy, and the boy starts to like girl but can't show it because he is too proud or whatever.

freakzilla

Chobits and Pita Ten are anime that should appeal to both romantic comedy lovers and fans of cute character designs. While Pita Ten might be a bit more hyper, both have a lot of humor involving a girl who discovers what life on Earth is like.
