Kappa no Kaikata

Kappa no Kaikata

Kappas (Water Imps) and humans have a long history together in Japan, and in today's urbanised world, kappas can be purchased as pets. This is what a young man decides to do, and names his water imp 'Kaatan'. With no prior experience of keeping kappas, the new pet-owner consults a 'How to Raise a Water Imp' manual. He cares for, tames, and trains Kaatan, enjoying the imp's charms and patiently enduring his messes! Whether it's potty training or going out to play with other kappas, there's always an adventure for Kaatan and his new owner.

If you like Chi's Sweet Home Atarashii Ouchi then you may want to give Kappa no Kaikata a try as both take a humorous look at the life of a pet and their owner. While Chi gives more personality to the actual pet, both are likely to raise a smile and they're both light hearted and easy watching.

Pets are a wonderful thing. Both these shows show the care and comedy an owner goes through with their pets. Kappa no Kaikata is slightly more strange since it is a kappa where Chi is about an adorable kitty. Both have short episodes and are sure to entertain.

Kuruneko

Kuruneko

A lady lives a quiet life with her two loves: alcohol, and her many cats. She’s had many of the latter over the years including an oft-grumpy Scottish Fold mix and Poko, an orange ball of energy who was abandoned as a kitten and saved to live another day. Whether the kitties are playing with cotton gloves, getting to know each other or causing mischief, they and the lady live happily together.

Cats doing adorable cute annoying cat like things with their humans along for the ride. Both have short episodes that make you want to marathon them as fast as you can. Chi's sweet home is slightly more light hearted than kuruneko. Check one out if you liked the other.

If you enjoyed watching Chi's antics and the relationship with her owners, then you may want to consider trying Kuruneko. Both are short, cute and comedic slice of life anime so it's well worth trying both series.

Higepiyo

Higepiyo

Higepiyo is just like any other chick; he's small, yellow, and... has a beard?! With an imposing presence and his constant sighing, it's not surprising that Higepiyo is the last chick left at the festival stand. Luckily for the now-depressed salesman, Hiroshi and his parents decide to buy Higepiyo for their own bizarre reasons. It's only when the family get him home that they realize just how weird this chick really is. From reading the newspaper to attacking the school bullies over a bread roll, Higepiyo is far from your average pet. Now Hiroshi and his parents must adapt to living with this food-crazed, talking chick - that is, if they can stop living in fear of their new pet! They just have to remember that while Higepiyo may not be cute, he may have a beard and he may ask for a second helping of curry, he's still a chick just the same!

Both anime are about their owner and a strange pet. Both have rather interesting funny moments to them and heartwarming ones. Sometimes they get just plain strange. Both have short episodes as well. Try one if you liked the other.
