Kinomoto Sakura never imagined that by opening a book in her father's library, she'd be responsible for releasing wild magic into the world, yet that's exactly what she did. Too powerful to be let loose on the world, the magical Clow cards were sealed away long ago by their creator, Clow Reed. But all is not lost! For the guardian beast, Keroberos, was sealed along with the cards. Can Sakura, with the help of Keroberos, retrieve the cards before they wreak havoc on the town?
Life can be tough when you're a teenager. Enter Tsukino Usagi, an average, if somewhat clumsy, junior high student whose voracious appetite for sweets and capacity for tears are offset by her enthusiasm for life. Her normal existence is suddenly turned upside down when a talking cat named Luna comes into her life. Suddenly, Usagi finds herself with the ability to transform into the superhero known as Sailor Moon. Fighting the occasional monster may be the least of her worries, though...
Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura have the magical girls a lot of people love. With so many episodes, you grow with the characters and understand how they feel. You see that those girls are pretty much like us and are trying to get along with others and reach their goals. Either catching Clow Cards or going against the Dark Kingdom, they're out there helping those in trouble.
Sailor Moon and Card Captor Sakura are both magical girl type shows, with occasionally clumsy female leads (Usagi more so than Sakura), strong, supporting male leads, and good, cute humour to boot. If you liked one, I'm sure you will like the other.
Both Sailor Moon and Card Captor Sakura deal with a regular girl who gains magical powers and then has to deal with her daily life while fighting evil. Both girls have cute little guardians and have many of the same personality traits.
I think that eveyone who has seen either one of these series will absolutely love the other, they both have magic, love, and cute outfits! not to mention saving the world from the bad guys.
Two magical girls shows. Although some say that CCS is a rip off Sailor Moon I think it has it's own magic. I enjoyed both series very much and don't have any complains about any kind of rip off. Really if you are into Magical girl shows then both are excellent choice.
Both series are about a girl who is living a simple, ordinary life when they encounter a "magic". Both include romance and a talking animal that supports and gives advice to the main character (Luna in Sailor Moon and Kero in Card Captor Sakura). If you liked Sailor Moon you'll enjoy Card Captor Sakura as well.
Both are great starter animes for any person just getting into the fandom. Both being from the magical girl genre, they sort of have the same feel and elements. Even though they don't have the same underlying story, they're both extremely cute.
Young girls suddenly given magical powers and must save the world...describes what these shows are about! Magical transformations, attacks, and battles every episode! And of course, romance! These shows are great for those who love magical girl shows!
Both these animes revolve around the magical girl concept. There is love, drama and the transformations. Have you not already seen these animes in you’re childhood you should see them now! If you liked one, you would definitely like the other!
Another anime pair with a girl who has the fate of the world in her hands. Both animes have the magical girl transformations and everything. Not to mention romance.
If you like one, you'll like the other :)
Both of them are about an ordinary girl and how its lifes changes when they meet a starnge creature which reveals to them that they have special powers and they have a mission to fullfill. Also, they are both girly anime.
The power to cross over dimensions is one that is deeply coveted -- a lesson that childhood friends Sakura and Syaoran learn the hard way when an unknown enemy attacks an archaeological dig in their country. As a result, Sakura's memories are scattered to different dimensions, causing her to fall into a deep sleep. In order to save Sakura's life, she and Syaoran must journey to various worlds in search of her memories, with the help of fellow travelers, Fai and Kurogane. But finding Sakura's memories won't be easy, and the price for traveling through time and space is high...
The main characters... similar? They are the same! I don't mean a slight difference or behaviour or anything. They are the same in practically every aspect!
The story may be different but the two main characters and their affection for one another hasn't changed. In fact you'll probably learn more about the other characters seeing both series.
Both series feature the elements of magic & adventure.
I would seriously recommend this to you if you haven't heard of this series already.
Tsubasa Chronicle and Card Captor Sakura have the same main characters but at different ages and in different worlds. They are alike in a lot of ways and are both a creation of Clamp. :)
CCS and TC have two exact same characters in two different anime series, both of which are staged in a magical world! If you want to dive deeper into these young lovers' relationship then indulge yourself with Tsubasa Chronicle - its soundtrack won't disappoint either!
Since CCS and Tsubasa have the same main characters, it's really fun to watch both series. However don't expect to see the same thing, as the characters act different. That's good, or else they'd be a boring watch!
Both of these great anime are both made by CLAMP. Their beautiful drawing and characters are very similar in style. They both follow great storylines and have magical situations. Pdersonally I enjoyed both of them and I think you will too.
Tsubasa Chronicle 'gueststars' a lot of different animecharacters, most noticably the main characters from Card Captor Sakura. It makes for a great reunion with 'old friends', as they adventure onwards in a new world.
Both series are also a quest for lost items and shares a lot of elements in their story buildup.
Cardcaptor Sakura and The Tsubasa Chronicles are two interesting interrelated stories. Both stories contain Sakura and Syaoran as two main characters. Cardcaptor Sakura of course focuses primarily on Sakura, while Syaoran is the protagonist of Tsubasa Chronicles. While the characters are act somewhat differently, (they are older in Tsubasa), it is hard to not enjoy both, and neither is an unrealistic progression. Also many elements from Cardcaptor Sakura are borrowed in Tsubasa, including Clow as a person, Kero, and most of the rest of the cast. If you have watched CCS, it is a delight and if you've seen only Tsubasa, it is interesting to see the characters in their original forms as well.
Not only are the main characters the same in name, but more or less in personality. If you supported the canon couple of one, you're likely to support the other.
Both series are Mahou Shoujo(Magical girl), and are filled with mysteries and captivating, lovable characters. Both female leads are endearing and, for girls at least, easy to relate to in some situations. The same goes for you guys out there and the lead male. Also, both series spawned from a manga written by CLAMP, so the likely-hood of you liking both is very high if you liked one.
Enjoy, and I promise, you will!
If you liked this anime then you're sure to love the other. I strongly think this because, firstly, both are from the same studio, Clamp. Secondly, both are about fantastical creatures, love, a world-wide struggle, and humans that must save the world. Thirdly, the animations are still both great. So watch the other today!
Tsubasa Chronicle is set in a distant parralel universe with your characters from CardCaptor Sakura including Saura, Syaoran, Clow, Touya, Yukito and more! This series also has magics incorporated like CardCaptor Sakura.
The main characters of these shows are the same, with some of the same personality traits. Fans of each will love the show just for this fact. But both shows have the same feel, worlds full of magic, and more questions than answers!
You would like Tsubasa because it is Card Captor Sakura in a different demension. You'll notice all the way through the anime the similarities about the two. I loved it and i know you would too.
Misaki Suzuhara is a young girl who traveled to Tokyo to live with a relative, but ended up becoming involved in the greatest game of all time: Angelic Layer! In this fast-paced competition, players customize dolls and fight them in arenas of all sizes, hoping to gain experience and perhaps win the greatest tournament of them all! With new friends to meet and new enemies to defeat, the best time of Misaki's life seems to be just beginning. Join Misaki as she struggles to be the best, even in the face of overwhelming odds...
If you enjoyed watching either Angelic Layer or Card Captor Sakura you might check out the other one. They are similar in that the main character in each of these anime strives to achieve their goal against all odds, as well as gaining friends and support as they go. Both of these anime have a feel-good mood about them.
Both Angelic Layer and Card Captor Sakura were made by CLAMP, and feature ridiculously cute main characters that work towards their respective goals with optimism, yet still (this is the impressive part) manage not to be annoying.
Angelic Layer and Card Captor Sakura share the same soul. In both, you'll see what it takes for a girl to believe in herself and confront all types of hardships. Friendship is one of the most wonderful gifts of life, and that too, you will see here.
Both series are similar in the global idea and they are both from Clamp (Clamp series ROCK). Even if Angelic Layer is a doll battle serie and CC Sakura a Magical girl serie, both of them are about a girl that grow with the problems that come ahead.
Two shows, both made by Clamp, are bound to have many similarities. Two young girls discovering life and the struggles that come with it.
If this was a movie rating, both would be classified as having "mild fantasy violence" mixed in with the magical girl romance. As such, I would say that these shows are both aimed at young girls, however, I think there are plenty of otaku's who will love the cutesy feel of both of these.
Once there lived an eccentric author called Drosselmeyer who wrote grand tragedies - one of them was the tale of a prince who sealed away an evil raven by breaking his own heart into tiny pieces. However, before the story could be completed, the author died and the tale took on a life of its own. Now, in a town where fiction and reality meet, the story continues on its tragic course with Ahiru, a duck who transforms into the beautiful Princess Tutu in order to restore the prince's heart. But will Ahiru's act of love be enough to defy the story's terrible destiny and lead to a happy ending?
Cardcaptor Sakura and Princess Tutu are two of the best magic girl stories out there. While both of collection elements, the larger similarity is both shows have strong second halves. Also characters in both shows have changing roles. In Cardcaptor Sakura, Syaoran is at first a rival, then an unwitting ally, finally a friend, and then a lover. In Princess Tutu, the Prince goes from the hero to a villain, while the Knight goes from a villain to the hero--and Rue changes from the black hearted foil to Ahiru, to the victim. Needless to say more, I found both to the best of the respective shared genre
Both of these series gave me the initial feeling of "ick". I find it very hard to watch "magical girl" kind of shows, as I was put off by Magical Girl Sammy...
But I was pleasantly surprised by both of these, so much so that Princess Tutu is probably very close to my top 10. Don't let the genre put you off, as both of these may be childish on the surface, but explore adult relationships and feelings.
The animation is beautifully choreographed, especially in Tutu, and is matched beautifully to the sweeping crescendo of music.
I think if deep down inside you enjoy a good romance, you will like both of these. Just don't tell anyone ;)
So. You just watched what you think is probably the best magical girl series in the world. Think again! If you've just finished either Princess Tutu or Card Captor Sakura and haven't watched the other one, then you absolutely must! Both utilise the episodic magical girl with transformation format to spin a highly funny, highly emotional, and gripping yarn with fascinating characters you immediately come to love. Most importantly, both of them will remind you why you fell in love with the shoujo genre in the first place.
Both of these are magical girl anime that involve collecting different elements in the fight to restore goodness and order. They are not only funny and cute but also dramatic, weaving in issues of friendship, romance, belief, and sacrifice. But what really makes both of these series outstanding is the dynamic, loveable characters. It may take a half a dozen or more episodes, but you will eventaully become hooked, drawn in by the characters' personalities, mysteries, adventures, and changing perspectives. These are my two favorite anime of this genre and if you love one you will definitely love the other.
Ever since they met, emotionless Hotaru and ditzy Mikanhave been best friends, and are virtually inseparable-- that is, until Hotaru is invited to attend a strange school far away, a school for those who have special abilities known as "Alice". Unable to be separated from her friend, Mikan soon sets out on a mission to find her. After traveling to a city far away, she finds Hotaru at last, but gets much more than she bargained for. Now, she is lost in a school full of kids with strange powers, unusual animals, and has secured an immediate rivalry with the toughest little punk in town!
These two charming series are very fun to watch; both are filled with magic and superpowers. These two series demonstrate how elementary school kids can do things that make big differences in our lives. The warm feelings that you will feel from the romance that occurs between the two female and male protagonists in both of these series takes the anime to the next level. Card Captor Sakura and Gakuen Alice can fill you with happy and warm feelings, as well as serious thoughts once in awhile.
CCS and Gakuen Alice remind you of the joys and adventures of youth - minus the irritating and whiny kid. Both series showcase the fact that even at an early age, children can and will act responsibly because it is they who have pure intentions and malice-free dispositions. There's also the fact that both leads have the same name and are entrusted with enormous powers, not to mention their mothers' lives are shrouded in mystery
These two shows are quite a bit alike, with similar central casts in a school setting with magic going on. Both lead characters suddenly acquire their magic powers and have to learn how to deal with them while going on with 'normal' affairs at the same time.
Card Captor Sakura has some better action scenes, but on the whole the plots of both shows vary between 'serious magic stuff' and 'fluffy everyday-life stuff' to about the same extent.
If you're looking for another all-age friendly tale of schoolgirl magic and two adoring best friends with a complicated relationship, both Card Captor Sakura and Gakuen Alice are a good bet. Both feature school-age female friends, in which one absolutely adores the other and will do anything to make her happy. Both are digestable with an episodic feel that emerges into something more complicated later on. Both feature a great cast of characters all around.
CCS and Gakuen Alice both boast main characters that are ten year old girls, whome find hidden powers deep within themselves. These adorable girls selflessly use their powers for the good of all around them, while never losing their upbeat attitudes. With their strong wills, compelling storylines, trustworthy friends, and fiery personalities, it's impossible to like one and not the other.
